Funding updates

We’re delighted to announce two major funding updates:

  • Our Local Energy Advice Project has received continuation funding for us to deliver and develop this project for another 2 years from the Energy Industry Voluntary Redress Scheme. After the success of our first 2 years of LEAP, this funding has now been increased so the project is able to go full-time.

  • Our Welfare Rights and Representation Project has received continuation funding from Henry Smith for us to deliver and develop this project for another 3 years. Similar to our LEAP project, the success of this project has led to an increased funding award allowing the project to be full-time.

These sources of increased funding will allow us to build upon our previous experience with these projects to further meet the advice demand in our community.

Money Advice Matters Campaign

You may have seen that we took part in the national Money Advice Matters campaign which ran from 31st May until 11th June.

Money worries piling up? We can help.

The campaign aimed to raise awareness that Citizens Advice Bureaux are here to help with money issues and our trained advisers can help by advising you on your options, ensuring your income is maximised and helping put a plan together for going forward.

Spotlight on our Housing Debt projects

Clacks Council Housing Debt Project

This project is funded by Clacks Council Housing Services. It aims to improve tenancy sustainment and reduce homelessness by providing effective and holistic advice to Clacks Council tenants who have rent arrears.

In 2019/20, for clients who engaged with the project their tenancy sustainment rate was high; 98.5% prior to a case first calling in court and 92% even after a decree had been granted and an eviction set up.

Our project adviser, Denise (pictured below), can provide a full debt and income maximisation service and budgeting advice. You can contact us for this advice on 01259 219404.

We also have 2 other specialist Housing Debt Projects. We have a similar project with Ochil View Housing Association for their tenants and HAMES (Housing Advice and Mediation Service) provides advice to Private Rented Sector Landlords and Tenants. All of these services provide a fully holistic approach, aiming to prevent homelessness and increase tenancy sustainment.

Find out more about these projects on our website.
