In this weeks eNewsletter

Hello <<First Name>>

Over the last week, I have been working on a number of issues in the community but I will wait until after the election before reporting on them. I don't want anyone to say the only reason I have got involved is for election political purposes which could dilute the effectiveness of the solutions I am working on to address the issues. So not a lot to report on this week.

We are less than a week to polling day and the results will come in on Friday next week so I might send next weeks newsletter out a little late so I at least have something to report.

If you have any questions you want to ask me before you cast your vote on 6th May you can either call me on 07967 759987 or reply to this email with your number and I will call you.

Campaign update

I have now made a significant number of calls to residents who have asked me to call them. As my campaign leaflet has gone out to around 6000 properties that have generated a lot of emails and calls too. It has been a busy week but overwhelmingly positive.

The support I have had from the community during this election has been awesome and I am forever grateful to those who volunteered to help deliver my campaign leaflet.

Local fire idiots

I was very disappointed to see the leftover evidence of some idiotic behaviour on the Deepcut SANGS which took place on Sunday night.

The image below was sent to me on Monday morning by a concerned resident.

We know Heathland is susceptible to wildfires so this is just plain dumb. And is it too much for us to want to keep the area nice for us all to enjoy?

Can I ask all members of the community that if you see activity like this in progress that you call the Police/Fire Service immediately on 999.

If anyone in your house came home stinking of smoke on Sunday night...

Planning applications

One of the phone calls I received this week was from a resident who wanted to discuss a planning application. The resident mentioned that there was a historical application that was approved and he only got to find out about it after the permission was given and he was not able to comment on the application.

His neighbour subscribes to these email updates and alerted him to an application that now he is able to comment on and now he subscribes for these updates in his own right.

If you have not noticed, at the top of all these eNewsletters is a regular update on all the planning applications to go live on the Councils planning portal in any given week.

Should you ever spot a planning application in the weekly list above and you want to speak to me about it please do contact me.

Election Hustings

On Sunday evening, I took part in online hustings with the two opposition candidates in the forthcoming County Council elections on 6th May.

There was a wide variety of questions from quite a large audience that we answered.

I thought it was a well run online event and a very enjoyable experience.

Thank you to the Mytchett, Frimley Green & Deepcut Society for organising the event. Also thank you to my opposition candidates for a very well mannered debate and above all, thank you to those members of the community that took the time to engage with us all.
As always I want to hear from you if you have anything you would like to discuss with me of a local nature.

Best wishes
