WEEKLY NEWSLETTER

26th September 2019

From the Principal

Wow!  What an awesome but super busy week we are having with all of our production shows this week. It's so cool seeing our students maintaining the enthusiasm and energy levels as they present the production to the Community in each of the shows. Thank you so much parents for supporting our awesome students with our production - we really appreciate it. Thank you too staff (both teachers and support staff) for all of the additional extra hours/time you have been putting into this. We have one more show left tonight beginning 7pm (students need to be at school between 6.30p.m. and 6:40pm in their normal classes please).

As mentioned previously students are welcome to come later than normal tomorrow (except for our Year 7/8 students who have technology at the normal time) to sleep in after having another late night tonight. Buses will be running to normal times, and for students arriving at the normal school time we will have teaching staff on site.

Hope you all have an awesome and safe school holiday break and we look forward to seeing you all at the beginning of term 4 (Monday October 14).  A reminder that Monday the 4th of November is a teacher only day (all schools in the Puketeraki CoL/Kāhui Ako).

Books, books, books…
It would be greatly appreciated if everyone had a look during the holidays to find any levelled school reading books. Some of our sets of books are incomplete indicating we have a lot of books missing in action. We love receiving bags of books after the holidays so please add book hunt to your holiday ‘to do’ list.

Many thanks
Junior Team

Children’s clothes:
Following the success of the ladies’ night second-hand clothing sale we are planning to hold a children’s clothing sale in the library to raise funds to further develop the library which is a community space. We aim to hold the sale mid-way through term 4 before and after school.
Please hunt out any good quality children’s clothes that you would be happy to donate for this purpose and send them in after the holiday.
We already have many new or near items.  Please keep them coming!

If you would like to help with the sale or have any questions please contact either Angela Wells or Pip Wyatt.  angela.wells@westeyreton.school.nz

Merino School Jersey

We are excited to announce that we are going to be introducing a Merino Jersey option to our school uniform range. This will only be able to be purchased through the school and we have samples for your children to try on. The Jersey's have our school wording on the left chest so they will be identical in style to our current range.

So why are we introducing this option?
As you know - it gets very cold in our area so wearing Merino clothing is a much warmer option. It allows the children's skin to breath, less bulk allowing the children to learn to write without rolling up their sleeves, stretchy yet durable allowing your child to play freely. The garments don't fade or pill easily and best of all they are machine washable.

The cost of the jersey is $80.00 including GST (including embroidery) when we order 10 or more garments in the first run. There after - each order of 5 or more garments will remain at this price and if you require  a 1 off order of less than this 5 garments - then the price will increase to $85.00 including GST. Therefore we will be doing bulk orders throughout the year in order to keep the price at $80.00 per garment.

Please contact Maryann Read if you would like to view or try on a jersey. maryann@installspecs.nz

There will be order forms at the office or you can email Maryann to receive one. All money for the orders are to be made to the school bank account and there will be no order submitted prior to garments being paid. If we get 10 garments purchased prior to the end of this week (Friday 27 September) we will place our first order then.
