Dear Valued Customers,
As previously announced, some Chinese terminals, especially Xingang (Tianjin) and Shanghai, had been facing a serious shortage of reefer plugs due to slow cargo pick-up activities associated with the outbreak of Novel Coronavirus (aka CORVID-19) and the resultant extension of the Lunar New Year holidays.
We have now seen an improvement of the situation. The terminal congestion has eased significantly, reefer plug availability has improved and we are pleased to report that the situation is now improved to such a degree that we do not presently have to divert reefer cargoes on a large scale.
In view of these improved circumstances, ONE hereby announces the suspension the congestion surcharge (CGD) for reefer shipments moving into Shanghai and Xingang with effect from 14th Mar 2020*. *Based on freight application date.
The global situation related to CORVID-19 continues to be highly dynamic, changing from day by day. ONE will continue to closely monitor all developments and endeavour to provide our customers with further updates concerning any further material changes in circumstances. For any further inquiries, please contact your account manager or customer service representative.
