Curricula seeking applicants and mentors

Computer Science (CS) is one of the most in demand and high paying majors in the world. Though the major can be challenging, the possibilities are endless. That’s why Curricula was created, a program supporting college students interested in majoring in CS. 

How does it work?
Once accepted, students gain access to:
- Study groups of other CS students
- Student mentor who’s been through the ropes
- Personal industry coach from a top tech company
- Tools designed to help you finish the major and land a high paying tech job
- Introductions to internships & full-time job offers at top tech companies
- Interview prep support
Best part: there is $0 upfront cost. 

Who should apply?
Current full-time college freshmen or sophomores who are considering, or already majoring in, Computer Science are encouraged to apply.

Interested in mentoring and getting paid?
Are you an upperclassmen majoring in Computer Science and interested in getting paid to be a Curricula mentor?
- Pay: $15/hr
- Time commitment: 5-10hrs/week
- Responsibility: Provide tactical coursework advice (tips for how to be successful in a specific class, course planning) and coursework support.

Fung Fellowship application open

UC Berkeley’s Fung Fellowship for Wellness and Technology Innovations program's applications for the 2020-2021 academic year are now open!

The Fung Fellowship is a unique opportunity for rising juniors to create innovative health and wellness solutions to address real-world challenges alongside our community and industry partners. Fung Fellows utilize the iterative human-centered design process, public health principles, and emerging technology. 
As a Fung Fellow you will explore the Health + Tech space, experience the design process from prototype to product, embed in communities to co-create with them, and establish yourself as a young leader in an emerging field.

Fireside chat with AnChain.ai

Sutardja Center for Entrepreneurship & Technology is hosting a fireside chat with AnChain.ai  CEO Victor Fang. Make sure to bring your resume! Victor Fang, Founder and CEO of AnChain.ai and participant in the Berkeley Blockchain Xcelerator,  will share the unique challenges he experienced and wisdom learned while raising money in Silicon Valley.

Opportunity Through Data Mentor Opportunity

Opportunity Through Data, an org that strives to increase access to data science education among underrepresented populations in the industry, is hiring tutors to lead weekend/after school sessions teaching an introductory level data science education program to high school students. The application deadline is 12/13/19. Application here.

SURF Fellowships application

Applications for SURF research fellowships are now open. The Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) awards a $5,000 stipend for a summer research project that will lead to a senior thesis. SURF enables students to work closely with faculty and graduate student mentors, prepare for graduate school, contribute to a body of knowledge, build community with other motivated researchers, and more.
The application deadline for SURF is February 20, 2020.
