Fung Fellowship

The Fung Fellowship for Wellness and Technology Innovations program is now accepting applications for the 2020-2021 academic year.

What is the Fung Fellowship?

The Fung Fellowship is a unique opportunity for rising juniors to create innovative health and wellness solutions to address real-world challenges alongside our community and industry partners. Fung Fellows utilize the iterative human-centered design process, public health principles, and emerging technology. 

Selected Fung Fellows attend a 3-unit course each semester, are supported in a summer internship, and have the opportunity to apply to a second year honors program. 

Required Qualifications: Registered student at UC Berkeley, Rising Junior (current Sophomore standing) with a passion for health, wellness, social impact, design, and/or technology

Industry Opportunities

Google Hash Code 2020

Get a glimpse into software engineering at Google during Hash Code, a team programming competition that tasks developers with solving a Google engineering problem. In past years, teams have tackled challenges like optimizing video streaming on YouTube and scheduling rides for self-driving cars.

Hash Code 2020 will take place over 2 rounds:

  • an Online Qualification Round on February 20 from 9:30am to 1:30pm (PST)

  • a Final Round for top teams at Google Ireland on April 25

D.E. Shaw Research: Science & Engineering Summit for Undergraduates

D. E. Shaw Research (DESRES) seeks exceptional undergraduates pursuing degrees in the computational sciences to join us at our Science and Engineering Summit for Undergraduates.  This event will take place on Friday, April 3, 2020, and will bring students pursuing bachelor’s degrees in science and engineering to our offices in New York City for a day of presentations, discussions, networking, and plenty of refreshments!  This is an opportunity to learn about the internship and career opportunities available at DESRES, explore our scientific computing and research projects in detail, and connect with other students from across the country who share your interest in science and technology.

Enjoy the vantage point from our Times Square office and an evening in New York City on us!  We will cover the cost of travel to and from New York as well as hotel accommodations for two nights for all selected attendees.

As an early engineer you will play a crucial role in the development of the product. Prelude is currently built on a no-code platform (Bubble) and you will have an opportunity to take the prototype and refactor it in code.

What we are looking for:

  • Full-stack engineer, ideally with experience working with modern web technologies (React / VueJS, etc.)

We are an early stage precision medicine start-up seeking to fundamentally change the way autoimmune diseases are diagnosed and managed.

There are currently 25 million Americans living with an autoimmune disease, but don't know it yet. That's because there is no easy way to diagnose these illnesses and patients keep suffering unnecessarily. What's more is that many treatments don't work for patients even when they are diagnosed. Terminal Live
