Internship Opportunities

Full-stack Engineer Intern at Prelude

Prelude is a process management system - combining budgeting, task management, and collaboration with a powerful workflow engine. Prelude automates the routine, so planners can focus on what they do best: craft unique experiences.

We have built an all-female technical team and are looking for an ambitious engineering intern to join us during a very exciting chapter of growth and product development. As an early engineer you will play a crucial role in the development of the product. Prelude is currently built on a no-code platform (Bubble) and you will have an opportunity to take the prototype and refactor it in code.

What we are looking for:

  • Full-stack engineer, ideally with experience working with modern web technologies (React / VueJS, etc.)
  • Experience building database-driven web applications
  • Intrinsically motivated and tenacious
  • Self-starter who LOVES to solve problems with automation and technology
  • Industry experience is a plus but not required so long as you are eager to grow

To Apply:
Please email Adriana (CEO and founder) at adriana@tryprelude.com and we can schedule a call or time to meet in person. Can’t wait to chat! To learn more about Prelude and this opportunity, visit this link.

Backend Software Engineer Intern at besora

besora is looking for a Backend Software Engineer Intern that has some experience with computer science or has taken relevant courses at EECS (CS8, CS9G, 9H, CS61B, etc) or other similar programs. If you are interested in getting hands-on experience building AI to help combat climate change, join us! If interested, please send your resume or an email of interest to amaanihamid@berkeley.edu.

More details:

  • Spring 2020 semester; 4-6 hours/week (if you can do more, great!)
  • Design and create API services and system architecture for the product
  • Proficient in Java/Python
  • Familiarity of web server technologies such as NGINX, Apache
  • Interest in sustainability, climate change, data analysis, machine learning models, AI
  • Experience in building machine learning models (nice to have but not required)

About besora:
besora is a knowledge platform that helps solve the information gap within the climate space by aggregating solutions as they emerge. besora operates on three key principles: aggregate, validate, and communicate. By aggregating publically available climate 'solutions,' validating them through a team of experts, and communicating them to relevant users, we hope to improve the information architecture of climate change information and data, globally.

Full-stack Developer Intern at Aila Health

We are an early stage precision medicine start-up seeking to fundamentally change the way autoimmune diseases are diagnosed and managed.

There are currently 25 million Americans living with an autoimmune disease, but don't know it yet. That's because there is no easy way to diagnose these illnesses and patients keep suffering unnecessarily. What's more is that many treatments don't work for patients even when they are diagnosed. We are looking to leverage each individual patient's personal data and lifestyle information to help them manage their condition properly and identify potential autoimmune conditions they might have based on our proprietary machine learning algorithm.

If you are interested in changing the healthcare system and having an impact on millions of patient lives and their families, please reach out - email rory@ailahealth.com.

Our ideal first full stack developer to build our native app would have an eye for customer centricity and have the following technical profile:

  • Major: Computer Science or Information Systems
  • Expertise: JavaScript [Angular and React Native]; CSS and HTML5
  • Platforms: iOS, Android, and Windows Backend development (preferred): SWIFT, MongoDB or similar
  • Unit testing (nice to have): Mocha/Jasmine
