Where Women Belong

Where Women Belong, is an org started by early-career women in tech in Silicon Valley California to help college women break into tech. They consist of software engineers, product managers and design people from top tech companies, who are recent graduates ourselves and have faced the struggles of navigating internship season, insanely difficult CS classes and the imposter syndrome at work.

As a part of their mission to help college women break into tech jobs/internships and become badass female founders. They have:

A Podcast (https://anchor.fm/wherewomenbelong) where we talk to women from companies such as Uber, Google, Visa on how they broke into their roles in tech ranging from PM, SWE to Design.

Matching program to connect:
- Early-stage female founders with talented, college and early-career women who are passionate about helping build these companies with their talent.
- Or, college founders with other women who are willing to help/work at/co-found companies whilst in college.

If interested in partaking in the Matching program, please fill out this form and they will work to match you with amazing opportunities.

UCB 5th Year Master of Information and Data Science (MIDS) program

I School's is offering the 5th Year Master of Information and Data Science (MIDS) program, tailored for UC Berkeley undergraduate students!! The 5th Year MIDS provides Cal students with a path to earning a professional master’s degree through focused advising and guided preparation in one calendar year. This program is designed from the ground up by UC Berkeley I School faculty and courses are taught by I School faculty, leading industry practitioners and post-doctoral scholars.

I School will be hosting several 5th Year MIDS events both on-campus and online in the next several weeks. This is a great opportunity to get a first-hand look into life as a 5th Year MIDS student, dive deep into the curriculum, and learn tips on how to strengthen your application. And, there will be opportunities to connect with current 5th Year MIDS students and the I School staff.

Master of Engineering app fee waiver available

The Coleman Fung Institute for Engineering Leadership is proud to announce that the Master of Engineering application fee will be waived for UC Berkeley current undergraduates and alumni.
Application Fee Waiver
Complete and submit your application by the Monday, January 6, 2020 deadline in order to have your application fee waived. This process will happen automatically, on or around the application deadline, based on the undergraduate university information listed in your application.

GRE Optional for Select Departments
UC Berkeley current undergraduates and alumni applying to the seven engineering departments who earned their UC Berkeley Bachelor's degree with a 3.5 or higher cumulative GPA are not required to submit GRE scores with their application. This option is open to any UC Berkeley current undergraduates and alumni from all majors, though we strongly recommend the GRE for those who hold non-technical degrees or feel the scores would be a positive addition to their application. Applicants can leave the GRE score blank or list a zero score. Application here.
