Most of these groups are fringe and marginal, but BLM RI PAC's previous leader, Corey Jones, is now a policy maker for Governor McKee, and the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) party has an activist elected General Assembly member, David Morales.
May 23, RICI organized a peaceful counter-vigil to the pro-BLM gathering held at the same time in front of Barrington Town Hall.
The pro-Black Lives Matter event was organized by Temple Habonim, Barrington Congregational Church,Barrington Interfaith Partners, Barrington Presbyterian Church, Saints Matthew and Mark Episcopal Church, and Saint John's Episcopal Church - "Barrington Interfaith Partners".

RICI publicized the anti-Semitic nature of the Black Lives Matter Movement and offered alternative paths to the moral vision that black lives do matter. Read here.
Small victory
During 2020 the Jewish Alliance of RI (JARI) created an online tool for reporting "Anti-Semitic Activity".
Unfortunately, in the view of JARI, only groups on the political right were considered to be hate groups, as this partial screenshot shows.

After pressure from RICI, JARI has modified the Tracker.

But still there is no recognition of "the elephant in the room" -- Jew-hatred from the pro-Palestinian left, including the Black Lives Matter Movement and the BDS movement.

JARI is an adopter of the IHRA Working Definition of Anti-Semitism and is ignoring its responsibility to protect the community by identifying ALL sources of Jew-hatred.

You can send your comments on the matter to the CEO of JARI, Adam Greenman, here.

The New Furies of the Oldest Hatred

Take a good look at who is speaking out against Jew-hate. And who is staying silent

Peter Savodnik

The furies have been unleashed. They were everywhere you looked these past two weeks, though you won’t read about them much in the papers.

We saw them on Thursday, when pro-Palestinian protesters threw an explosive device into a crowd of Jews in New York’s Diamond District.

We saw them on Wednesday, when two men were attacked outside a bagel shop in midtown Manhattan...

Let us dispense with the fiction, once and for all, that hating the Jewish homeland, which contains the largest Jewish community on Earth, is different from hating Jews. Read article.

Anti-Semitism is seeping into the United States via college campuses, politics, and the internet. It is evident in both the far-left and far-right political movements that hatred towards Jews is on the rise. The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem has put together a new resource to help the Christian community better understand anti-Semitism and how to stop it.

The booklet is available to download for free and we encourage everyone to get themselves a copy and share it with people in their network.
