The IHRA Working Definition of Anti-Semitism gets another big boost in RI!
On Wednesday, December 16, the 7th night of Chanukah 2020, the [Sandra Bornstein Holocaust Education and Resource Center of RI] formally adopted the IHRA Working Definition of Anti-Semitism. "Supporting this Working Definition goes hand-in-hand with our mission of Holocaust education." Read the full public statement HERE.

What is the IHRA Working Definition? Briefly, The IHRA definition clarifies what constitutes anti-Semitism. It clearly states that criticism of Israel similar to that leveled against any other country cannot be regarded as anti-Semitic. But along with older forms of Jew-hatred, it says that anti-Zionism – that is, an attack against Israel’s right to exist as the Jewish homeland - is anti-Semitic,

Why is it important? Because you have to define your enemy in order to fight it.

Who is against it? Generally speaking, the anti-Israel progressive movement opposes it by falsely claiming that it would shut down criticism of Israel.

Who is promoting IHRA in Rhode Island? RI Coalition for Israel is actively promoting it to community, religious, educational, law enforcement, government, and other RI groups.
Send congratulations to the leadership of the Sandra Bornstein Holocaust Education and Resource Center for stepping up and defending today's Jews against Jew-hatred in RI!

Anti-Semitism is seeping into the United States via college campuses, politics, and the internet. It is evident in both the far-left and far-right political movements that hatred towards Jews is on the rise. The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem has put together a new resource to help the Christian community better understand anti-Semitism and how to stop it.

The booklet is available to download for free and we encourage everyone to get themselves a copy and share it with people in their network.
