It's finally here! This Sunday, we unveil our pop-up shop, A Whirlwind Romance! We've done lots of offsite events in our first year, from book fairs to town fairs and lots in between, but this is our first real pop-up store, so it feels a little different. We'll be at Bow Market in Somerville, which is in the heart of Union Square. We couldn't be more excited about the space, which you can read more about here.

We'll be open for only eight days, but we're going to pack a lot into that space of time. It all starts this Sunday, Feb. 10, with the Market's Galentine's Day event. There will be brunch, and an afternoon of special pairings from the Market's purveyors of chocolate, wine, beer, cheese, oysters and champagne. There will also be a raffle to benefit Planned Parenthood. And there will be us!

After a day off on Monday, we'll be at it again from the 12th to the 18th. Saturday the 16th will be an especially vibrant day. Bow Market is hosting an Après Ski event. Essentially, they're going to to the Market into the base of a ski mountain. There will be fire pits, neon clothes, hot drinks and marshmallows. Their partner Polar Fleece will also be giving gifts to everyone who signs up for a $15 "lift ticket."

But that's not all that's going on that day. We'll also be hosting two book signings with local authors in our space. At 1 pm, we have Nicole Galland, whose latest novel, the Martha's Vineyard-set On the Same Pagecame out in DecemberAnd at 6 pm, we'll have Boston Globe Love Letters columnist Meredith Goldstein, who published two books last year, YA romance Chemistry Lessons, and tell-all memoir Can't Help Myself.

In between, we're going to have a lot of fun as well. There will be space in the pop-up for people to create their own romance novel cover, including with our favorite cover model, Fabio, as Clarissa Murphy shows off on the left.

We'll wrap up on the 18th, which if you're scoring at home is President's Day. We're looking forward to meeting a whole lot of new Somerville friends, but if you're a regular customer here, we'd love to see you if you have the time and wherewithal for a trek into the city!

A Whirlwind Romance has received some press coverage as well. You can read more about it at Dig Boston, The Boston Globe, The Boston Globe (a second time!) and Shelf Awareness.

We are thrilled to be launching three books this month!

Two will be launched simultaneously, making Sunday, Feb. 17th, our first double book launch! How exciting is that! Local author Jen Petro-Roy is simulteanously releasing a middle-grade novel, Good Enough and a children's non-fiction book,
You Are Enough: Your Guide to Body Image and Eating Disorder Recovery. You may remember Jen because we had her out in September. Please read more about her books at our events page here.

The following Sunday, Feb. 24, we'll be launching the new YA novel from Littleton author, Kris Asselin. The book revolves around a 16-year-old New Hampshire golf phenom named Kate, who is going to have to shoot better than ever to save her family's golf course. But golf is a game of concentration and Kate has a lot of big distractions, to say the least. You may remember Kris because she not only took part in our Grand Opening Week in April, but she also attended our Littleton Third Thursday events this past summer. Read more about our event on the 24th with Kris here.
Last week, we posted our "Talk of the Town" interview with Robyn Kenney for ActonTV. This week, we have the pleasure of sharing with you our interview with reporter and local author Ted Reinstein that was featured this week on WCVB's Chronicle. The whole show, "Indie Innovators," was fantastic and brought a tear to our eye, of our fellow independent stores swimming upstream against the current. Here, you can see the segment on indie bookstores, which also features Trident Books and Frugal Books, which are located in downtown Boston and Roxbury, respectively.
