2020 is on - let's get involved!

We have so many events planned this year it will hopefully be our best yet! If any of you out there want to be involved we are always looking for people from supporters through to committee members to help us out and spread the word about our fantastic sport and club!

If you can spare a few hours in between anything else and want to help grow our events then please get in touch!!

Your Club needs You!!

This year we are again supporting (ie paying for!!) a team to compete in the Inter Area Indoor Challenge at Lee Valley on the 1st of March.

This is a great opportunity to try something different and represent this club in a Masters only indoor competition. There are plenty of places available for what will be a great day of friendly competition - I only wish I was not injured!!!

Please see the event in our FB Group at and contact our very generous Team Manager Carol Holt if you are interested!!

NMAC London Marathon Place

As a club we were awarded 1 VMLM place guaranteed for a member of the club - this year's place was awarded to Peter Hayler drawn at the committee meeting on Saturday.

If you enter the ballot next year for the London Marathon and are unsuccessful then keep hold of your rejection and look out for future club places.

2019 in review - Rich Harrison

One athlete last year has caught the eye, for his sheer volume of events, his boundless enthusiasm and support of our events and the fact he got married and ran a marathon on his stag do and with his new wife Sara on their honeymoon! Ladies and gents meet Rich (and more importanly Sara).......

Puts my 125 events and 33 parkruns to shame - though I have been injured since August....... only kidding mate, loved having you around NMAC and Spen this year!!! And congratulations to you and Sara again!!

Club Advocates...

I post a lot about our events to try and spread the word - but if I post in your Club's Facebook Group and you don't know me you are unlikely to read it. That is why I am building a network of Advocates to spread the word about NMAC, BMAF and the events and opportunities open to people in as many clubs as possible.

We currently have about 40 club advocates in our area who share our events and info within their clubs and I am looking for more - if you are happy to share NMAC and Masters info in you club then drop me a line!!

I write the content and suggestions to share in your club - you choose how much or how little to share depending on what is appropriate for your audience!

Club Runs

One thing I would like to do is bring back the Club runs and socials - this needs someone to organise an evening get together with a run and social and I am looking for club members to invite other NMACers to join them and put on something in as many areas as possible.

Just a run, then a meet up for a drink afterwards..........

Mail me if you fancy hosting a run!!

At Christmas many people received a paper copy of the newsletter even though they had opted out of it - this was a one off internal processing issue due to the small number of people on the committee all being over-stretched at the time.

My big commitment to you all is to get more information out on this email platform - so much so I hope you do not see the need to receive the posted version of the newsletter any more!!

Please click the "update my preferences" button at the bottom of this email and select "I do not require a copy of the newsletter by post" option to save the club money and keep our membership costs down!

Online Entries.....

Are coming! At our committee meeting on Saturday we agreed on an online platform for online entries. So, look out for online entries to be available for all our events going forward!! I just need to learn how to use the system but from now on you will only have to find a stamp if you really want to!!!
