E-News - the one with the apology!!

I have to apologise for being so quiet of late - and for not bringing you the electronic version of the newsletter in good time. Personally I had a lot going on work wise and had to prioritise other things for once but things are back on track now and hopefully I will be annoying your inbox more frequently again! Jason.
NMAC Track and Field Champs!!

A fantastic day of competition was organised by Dave Flitcroft and was very well attended by a high number of our athletes and a fair few guests. There were some great competitions and races, a lot of bling given out and I think a lot of fun had by all!

We were lucky to have Deborah there as photographer and a full set of her photos can be seen here:

British Masters Half Marathon Champs

Well done to the 54 athletes who took part in this event in the challenging peak district earlier this month.

Feedback from the field: Dot Kesterton

A great morning at Asbourne half marathon on Sunday 7th July. New NMAC member Phil Skelton M35 silver, Dot Kesterton F65 Gold. Fiona Jeffries F50 completing application this week.

Rich Harrison - So proud of Sara today, A silver medal in the FV45 category in British Masters 1/2 marathon championships at the tremendously tough Ashbourne 1/2 with nearly 1000ft of elevation in 1.48.07 Unfortunately I just was 4th MV50 so no medal for me but happy with 93.32 on that course!

NMAC Advocates

We do a huge amount of work advertising our club and events though the local clubs around here but the problem is seeing info posted in you own club's FB group or page by someone you don't know does not really grab the attention.

We have launched a program of club advocates to share our info within their own clubs to see if that increases engagement - so far 30 clubs have advocates to share our events, ethos and activities with their clubmates and I want to thank you all for volunteering!!!

If you would like to be a club advocate and share info (that either I will provide or you can make up) then please get in touch. Jason.
NMAC T&F Series Cleckheaton 2

On the 17th July we had another 80 athletes turn up for the second Open Track Series meeting at Spen. A mistake on my part let to the field events being messed up - I copied the event from April into our fixtures and did not amend for this event causing BMAF to (correctly) report we were doing the hammer and I advertised discus. For all those who turned up and did not complain on the error I thank you.

We did however have one athlete travel all the way from Bedford to attempt (successfully) to take the Northern record for the M35 hammer and he was accomodated by the officials and went on to take the record. I have since been rightly castigated by the officials but well done to all those who attended yet another cracking night of competition!

Full results are here and on Po10.
Inter Area Cross Country

28th September Bury St Edmunds

I am a little unsure over this as it works differently to the Inter Area Track and Field match - one thing I know is there is a Burger van, and toilets available, but limited changing facilities.

From what I can gather everyone can enter - and the scoring team is from the 6-10 best agre graded athletes from each regianal club.

You enter as an individual if you want to get involved!!

Read it here....... Enter HERE.
