Open Enrollment is in Full Swing!
October 15th through
December 7th.

Time is Running Out!! A few questions to ask yourself during this time of year....

Medicare Open Enrollment: Time to pick a plan
Medicare Open Enrollment is here and runs until December 7, 2019. Now is the time to review your benefits and make sure you have the best plan for 2020. You have until December 7th to make changes if you desire. New plans begin 1/1/2020. Please don't procrastinate! The policy year runs January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2020.
Picking a plan is an important and personal decision. Here are some things to think about as you compare Medicare plans to find one that meets your needs:
Does the plan cover the services you need?
Think about what services and benefits you’re likely to use in the coming year and find coverage that meets your needs. If you have other types of health or prescription drug coverage, make sure you understand how that coverage works with Medicare. And, if you travel a lot, check to make see if your plan covers you when you’re away from home.
What does the plan cost?
The lowest-cost health plan option might not be the best choice for you – consider things like the cost of premiums and deductibles, how much you pay for hospital stays and doctor visits, and whether it’s important for you to have expenses balanced throughout the year.
Are the plan’s providers and rules convenient?
Your time is valuable. Where are the doctors’ offices? What are their hours? Which pharmacies can you use? Can you get prescriptions by mail? Do the doctors use electronic health records or prescribe electronically? Answers to these questions may help you decide which plan is best for you.
What plans perform the best?
Not all health care is created equal, and the doctors, hospitals and facilities you choose can affect your health. Open Enrollment is also a good time to ask yourself whether you’re truly satisfied with your medical care.
Remember that even if you’re happy with your current plan, things change from year to year—so it’s important to take the time to compare.
Keep what you have?
YESif you want to keep the coverage the same no need to worry!
You will automatically be renewed with your current coverage. There is no action required on your part! No need to call or stress. Your new ID card should arrive mid-December 2019.

Prescription Drug Plans

If you are waiting on me to review your Prescription Drug Plan, thank you for your patience! We are working to review them all and get in touch with you! Medicare has a new web page www.medicare.gov that wants you to create an account to review plans. Which makes it hard for me as your agent to make comparisons.

I know you are getting bombarded by telesales calls, mailings, agents, and TV commercials about making changes to your Medicare Advantage & Part D drug plans. Each plan that offers prescription drug coverage through Medicare Part D must give at least a standard level of coverage set by Medicare. Plans can vary the list of formulary drugs they cover and how they place drugs into different "tiers" on their formularies. These formularies and tiers change year to year. That's why it's important to shop your plan each year.

We have 26 different Part D drug plans in our area. Which plan is right for you is dependent upon your current health and your current medications. Everyone is different, so everyone's needs are different!

If you haven't already, you can email me your list of prescriptions with their name, dosage, and amounts, and I can shop the list for you and we can schedule a time to talk on the phone.

This time of year, we joke that Telesales and other agents are doing some "serious hunting." They are the hunters, and you my friends, are the prey. I know you are getting bombarded with phone calls and mail this time of year.

I am your agent and I am here to help. If you have questions about your plan information, I am the person to ask! I'm a broker, meaning I write for all the carriers, United Health Care, Select Health, AETNA, Humana, and Regence Blue Cross. I can answer your questions about Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplement and part D plans.  I also write all kinds of health insurance for the marketplace and small groups. My office can even give you a quote on your home and auto or business insurance. We are a full service brokerage and would be happy to give you a quote.

Keep in Mind! If you make changes to your plan with someone other than me, the person that made the switch will become your agent. You are all my clients and I would hate to loose you. I always say, arm yourself with education. If you get stopped in the grocery store or get a phone call from an agent that persuades you to make a plan change, that person will become your new agent.
You are my clients and I am your advocate. I have been in the health insurance business for  24 years and have been a top selling agent for most of my career.
