MTAS NEWS and UPDATES:

MONTANA - Socially Distanced and HEATING UP!

Another July, gone, and August is winding down too! Who could foresee just a few months ago, with the pandemic becoming a daily concern in the world, that travelers would continue with vacation plans, and adventure-seekers would find new and exciting ways to adventure!? In spite of all the uncertainties of spring and 2020 in general, I am so grateful to have become busy again this summer, with tourists and travelers in Montana, and beyond! Who found me most helpful this summer? Those seeking "social distance" trips such as packrafters and river-runners, hikers, and those with cabins in the woods or other self-directed itineraries in the outdoors. Who else found the Shuttle helpful? Anyone trying to rent a vehicle in the western Montana region! Apparently, there was a shortage of rentals this year... Who knew?!

Needless to say, what is also back to normal is the heat of a Montana summer! We saw a pleasant, rainy June and beginning of July; and so far, only a few wildfires in the state... So, as many of my July clientele prove--people are heading to the rivers.  For The Shuttle, river pick-ups (lately) included the nearby Blackfoot and Clark Fork rivers (tubing groups), and, farther north, the South and Middle forks of the Flathead River (for packrafters and whitewater rafting adventures).
This year did bring some wonderful surprises amidst the tough ones: I had the pleasure of making new connections with outfitters (see below), area lodges (such as Missoula River Lodge and North Fork Crossing Lodge), and a bed and breakfast (Standing Stones B&B)!
In these 'weird times', it is comforting to know you're all still out there wanting to explore, and that there will always be a need for travel, and transportation companies like mine...
Let's make our way safely through the rest of summer and into fall!

COVID-19 and Montana:
While Montana has seen record numbers of cases since our 'lull' in spring, Missoula County has had few newer cases (as of this newsletter)! Keeping fingers crossed that that trend also continues into fall!

Social distancing continues to be important, and at this time, masks are required in indoor spaces, within Montana, and Missoula County is no exception. The Shuttle, a very small indoor space, will also be no exception, to protect each other and "yours truly". I continue to wear my mask inside the shuttle, and require passengers to do the same.  Thank you in advance!

Phase 2 Reopening Plan

I hope you are enjoying your summer, wherever you are! If your travel plans to Montana were postponed until next year, it's understandable! Knowing that The Shuttle "isn't going anywhere", but goes just about everywhere, give me a call or send an email if you need assistance with your travel itinerary and/or bookings!

As always, Hope you're well, and
Take Care! ~

Are you tired of the phrase "social distancing" yet?? Here in MT, it's pretty much an all-the-time thing...so here's some more:

Featured Partner: Wilderness River Outfitters of Idaho

Those "river runners" I mentioned earlier? Wilderness River Outfitters (WRO) out of nearby Idaho were the folks who brought me some, and they were a joy to connect with this summer for shuttle transportation needed in northwest Montana!
Clients of ours enjoyed whitewater rafting and kayaking adventures on both the South and Middle forks of the Flathead River, near Glacier National Park. What better way to social distance and beat the heat!
Check out WRO on their website and give them a call for your next river run fun!

Want to beat the heat and travel this fall?:

Montana may not boast the colors of fall foliage seen in places like the New England area, but cooler temperatures and new school seasons beginning tend to mean fewer visitors to Montana. This means, even more space to enjoy here in our beautiful state! Many of the opportunities for outdoor recreation that people enjoy in the peak of summer, can still be explored in the months to come! Come see us in the fall; come explore our open spaces and enjoy all Montana has to offer from fun towns to festivals, hiking, biking, paddling, and more...
Contact MTAS for a custom tour--social distance-style!

FYI: Reservations for tours and events can be made year-round! Don't wait, the Shuttle operates on a first-come-first-served basis, so call with your ideas and...
