First of all, welcome!

I wanted to create some content for parents of trans-identified & gender-confused kids. While there are plenty of other gender-critical email lists, I want to bring you a fresh and different perspective here:

This newsletter won't be focusing on the latest research on gender identity, the dangers of hormone therapy, or on school policies related to transgender students.

Instead, each email, sent about once a month, will contain three sections. This content is meant to inspire, support, and guide you in an optimistic and hopeful way as you parent your gender-questioning teen.

1. One Compelling Idea

Here I'll share with you one interesting idea that has piqued my curiosity, and how that idea relates to gender-questioning youth. It might be an article, podcast, video, piece of music, visual art, etc.

2. Sasha's Two Cents

This is where I'll share concrete tips and strategies for:
- building a better connection with your teen
- getting to the root of her/his gender issues (each kid is different)
- planting seeds of doubt about medical transition
- helping your teen to think about gender in new and healthy ways

3. Literature Updates

Here I'll share any new blog posts or articles I've written.  I'll also provide updates about the release of my eBook later this summer.

  • I'm writing this book because I've had an overwhelming number of requests for parent consultations, advice, and tips on how to support and challenge trans-identified teens. I'm synthesizing the strategies that I typically share in up to 6 different 50-min consultations, and putting everything into one comprehensive guide for parents.

In case you didn't receive them, I've created two documents you can download right now:

  • The first is an article to help you determine if your teen needs therapy immediately, or if they could benefit from the "watch and wait" approach. If they do need to see a provider, the article lays out steps to help you find gender-critical therapists in unlikely places
  • The second document is an updated gender-critical resources page full of helpful websites, YouTube channels, and blogs
I hope you enjoy the PDF downloads.

If there's anything particular you'd like to see in this newsletter, or if you come across any interesting and relevant content to share, feel free to send questions or links my way.
