Things are looking up, folks!

The unemployment rate is continuing its steady descent back to normalcy, jobs in the professional services sector have remained in demand and nearly 100,000 jobs were added last month.

January’s stats are a vast improvement from December’s and we expect this trend to continue well into 2021. The economy is showing resilience and growth.

Employers and job seekers alike can relax, knowing that stability is on the horizon. In the meantime, we have seen employers in our industry resume their searches for new talent and have even matched several new hires with positions this year.

We are excited and optimistic about what 2021 will bring.

THE JOB MARKET IS HEATING BACK UP!

Unemployment Update:

In January, 49,000 jobs were added and the unemployment rate dropped by 0.4% to 6.3%.

Unemployment for college graduates over the age of 25 increased slightly to 4%. These professionals are the hardest to find candidates.

The top 3 industries based on growth include Professional Services (95k), Government & Education (85k), and Information Technology (16k).

February 4 marks our 3 year anniversary.

Insurance companies were providing cheap capital for many years prior to the low interest environment we’re in today. This ‘soft’ market saw lots of insurer competition, annual insurance renewals with rate reductions for clients, and a buyer behavior that was dictated by the insurance market. Put simply, insurers were giving away cheap capital which made the capital trade an easy decision. Now that the market has shifted to a ‘hard’ market, buyers should adjust accordingly.
