Photographing Salar de Uyuni

There is nothing, an endless expansive nothing that continues to the distant horizon. The edge of the world is barely discernable, identified by a logical break in the blue gradient of the sky before it begins again.
We have a winner! Mark Klaamas's superb long exposure shot of Covehead Harbour Lighthouse is a worthy winner! We're happy to report we've sent off a $50 Amazon Gift Card to Mark, and have already started adding this month's submissions to the contest for September. See which ones we've selected so far on the PIXEO Photo Challenge Page

Valboholmen is a small rocky island just off shore of Lysekil, that gives endless shooting opportunities. The western side bears the brunt of the winter storms so the rocks have been worn silky smooth.

East Melbourne's Treasury Place is the perfect location to shoot the city's amazing lights paired with it's incredible stone historic buildings.

This scenic country field is the epitome of Canadian photography! It's the perfect shooting location just before sunset as it explodes with beautiful greens.

The view looking out from the Cadillac Mountain Summit is breathtaking. Definitely worth the early wake up to see sunrise here!

The Westmeath Lookout sits atop a grassy hill giving it amazing views looking out over the surrounding area and also making it the perfect location to shoot the Milky Way.

Lovely fast-moving rapids along the Oxtongue River. Easy to access and get on the rocks to take photos.

Another great round of the PIXEO Photo Challenge. This one was right down to the wire, and Mark squeaked a win with the amazing shot at the head of this newsletter. We love running these contests every month, so thank everyone for participating. We can't wait to see who wins the PIXEO Photographer of the Year award in a few months. Here in Ontario, the weather is starting to turn. I love shooting in the summer but the colour of the leaves here is stunning in the fall so I'm actually looking forward to it. I hope you all are too and I can't wait to see what you all submit this month. Until next time, keep snapping!

Yours aye,

Shawn M. Kent
