Church applications often have a mixture of natural and artificial light which can create interior contrast issues. For the St. Joseph Church in Demarest, NJ, OKALUX Bronze brought the perfect solution. According to James Hundt from Foresight Architects: “Knowing that the stained glass windows were very dark and would not let in a lot of daylight, I wanted to find a way to bring in more light without causing glare, which led to the ring of clerestory windows. Because the windows wrap around 6 sides of the octagonal space and people are sitting in a semi-circle, there was no way to avoid unwanted direct sun or too much glare for the worshipers using clear or even tinted glass. OKALUX allows the maximum amount of daylight and eliminated all concerns about direct sunlight and glare. Using bronze-tinted glass on the exterior side allowed the glazing to blend in nicely with the exterior color scheme. I am thrilled with the results.” To find out more about the project, please click here. For more information on OKALUX visit our website, www.okaluxna.com.
