Saturday, March 5, 10:00 a.m. AAUW Medford Branch
Wenonoa Spivak, Deputy Director of CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate). Each volunteer is appointed by a judge to advocate for a child’s best interest in court. During the presentation, Wenonoa will discuss a brief history of CASA, the nuts and bolts of the CASA volunteer role, how our local program operates, the impact that CASAs make in our community, and how you can get involved. 

March 9, 7 p.m. AAUW Tigard Area Branch
Pratima G. N. Rao, Ph.D., Materials Engineering Director at Lam Research, “Owning my story and my space as a woman in science & engineering” 
At Lam Research, a global semiconductor equipment company, Pratima leads cross-functional teams to develop solutions to materials science and engineering challenges.  Her degrees are in Materials Science and Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute where she received several fellowships, including an AAUW Fellowship.

Melody Ellis Valdini will discuss her award-winning book, The Inclusion Calculation: Why Men Appropriate Women’s RepresentationProfessor Valdini is the chair of the political science department at PSU as well as the associate editor of the Journal of Women, Politics and Policy. She teaches courses on comparative politics, with a focus on gender, representation, institutions, and the regions of Latin America and Europe. Contact
