Friends:
Let’s talk.
Let’s talk, specifically, about next Tuesday and all the door-knocking going on in our target states. Because we’re feeling inspired (no, not about what’s happening in Washington)...
Mississippi has been left out by too many national players for too long. We know that it’s tough, but that’s why it needs attention and support. How are we doing it? Engaging the voters that are most ignored with 50,000+ door knocks across our 11 districts, targeted mailers and a digital campaign to increase awareness of the election among African-American voters specifically. It adds up to believing a few exciting candidates can pull it out this year, and knowing that we have begun the process to build something permanent and game-changing in the state.
And if you think Texas is Trump country, now’s the time to spur change. Check out Eliz Markowitz. Her district — a suburban Houston district that covers a diversifying area with new voters — is the future of a changing Texas. The question for this special election is how far along that change has come already.
In this year’s state legislative headliner, Virginia is so close to flipping both chambers — we can do it by winning just one additional seat in each. The Future Now Fund Door-Knocking Challengers are the key to going beyond a flip to build a solid governing majority. If we don’t get there, the signals for 2020 will be very concerning indeed.
So when updates from the national scene read like Godfather fan-fic written by a person with an MFA from Trump University, know that long term gains and good governing live at the state level — where we at Future Now Fund are on the scene, making smart and honest progress for great state legislative candidates.
Onward!
