Letter from the Editor

  Dear friends,
So i guess we are all well into fall by now and starting to turn our heaters on occasionally. Along with back to school time it is also a really good idea to get our planning back in order. With the cold winter on its way, it is a great time of year to also go over your homes emergency plan including your dogs emergency kit. Every home should have one in case of emergency, snow storms or evacuation to include photocopies of all of you dogs important paper work, extra water bottles, 5 days of dog food (ensure to use it up every 6 months and put fresh food into the kit), and there is so much more to add! Its better to have it and not need it then need it and not have it! With the fall back to school rush you can also see by the classes below we are in full swing! So most classes for the remainder of 2019 have filled.  No new classes will begin before January 2020 so the classes below we expect to fill quickly. Planning ahead is key and it is a great time of year to buy holiday gifts including Quinte Canine gift certificates for your friends and family! Amounts can be purchased or classes themselves can be purchased.  Gift certificates are customized and can be mailed out to the giver or directly to the receiver! Hey, why not buy a class for your dog for their holiday gift, you will get many slobbery kisses in return.  The January classes will be available in the November 1 newsletter so stay tuned!

Registration
To register for any of the above classes visit: https://www.quintecanine.com/registration
Once payment is made and the registration form has been received, we will process your class enrollment and send you an email with all of the details and class handouts.

Previous students: if you have completed a registration form in the past you do not need to complete one again unless your information has changed or this is a new dog. Please just email us to register.

Classes are limited in size to provide dogs and handlers with maximum learning opportunities.  Because they are limited they often fill quickly.  In the very rare case a class does not fill with the minimum number of participants (50%) we may choose to postpone, reschedule or cancel classes.  Should this occur, we will provide the option to participants to apply their class registration fee toward the postponed or rescheduled class, an alternative class or provide a full refund.

SEEKING: New detection practice locations!

Quinte Canine Scent Detection Students (aka the Super Sniffers) are looking for new and different locations to practice the amazing sport of scent detection! Once students complete classes they are able to join the Super Sniffers (which is a practicing club) and we schedule 3-4 practices per month.

If you have a location (this could be a business, building, home, cottage, etc.) that you would allow our amazing dogs to practice in please let us know by email quintecanine@hotmail.com. It is important for the dogs to get into new locations as often as possible to keep their skills sharp, learn new skills and build confidence.

Practices are normally held on Wednesday (daytime) and Sunday (daytime) but other days can be worked out.  This is a great opportunity to learn more about the sport and get a firsthand look at how it all works!

Why do dogs float in water?

Because they are good buoys!
