February Newsletter!

2021 started off with hope and courage in our community. As we enter February with ever-extending lock downs and closures it may feel like that hope and courage are fading from sight. But I can assure you that our community is resilient and strong and we will keep moving forward together!

February marks Valentine's Day and we hope that you are surrounded by those you love, whether they have 2 legs or 4! In this issue, we have some of the current products available in our retail area that you can purchase safely via curbside for your special furry valentine! We have also listed some of the limited upcoming classes that are available as well as some fun and exciting news for trick dogs! We are continuing our classes and some limited services (one to one appointments) via virtual means and hope you will reach out if you would like to set up an appointment.

The current state of emergency and lock down measures in Ontario for all citizens have again been extended. The Government of Ontario has also extended the Reopening Ontario Act (ROA), which is the measure in which business like Quinte Canine must be closed to in-person services. These measure have been extended for business with the current extension set to expire February 19th. It is our hope that after that date we can reopen in a safe way, if possible. There is a possibility that it could be extended again so we ask that you keep your paws crossed for us for good news in February.

Upcoming Classes!

Our physical location is 987 Old Highway 2, Belleville, ON.
(Half way between Belleville and Trenton along Highway 2, directly across from Connon Nurseries)

Please note that all classes currently schedule to begin before Friday February 19th are being held virtually. The Government of Ontario has extended the Reopening Ontario Act (ROA) until February 19th which requires us to remain closed to in-person services. It is our hope that in the first few weeks of February the ROA will be amended to allow us to reopen safely after February 19th. If we are able to reopen safely we will ensure that classes return to in-person services as quickly as possible. Should the ROA be extended again, classes will remain virtual until such time we are able to resume in-person services in accordance withe the ROA.

There are no new classes booked outside of those listed below at this time. Once we receive information from the Government about reopening to in-person services (safely) we will announce new classes to begin. For future Puppy Classes, this will be posted on our website immediately - for all other class types, we hope to be able to bring you good news in the March 1st newsletter).

Once payment is made and the registration form has been received, we will process your class enrolment and send you an email with all of the details and class handouts. Please note that those who submit both payment and form (payment only needed for existing students) will receive first opportunity to register.

Classes are limited in size to provide dogs and handlers with maximum learning opportunities. Because they are limited they often fill quickly. In the very rare case a class does not fill with the minimum number of participants (50%) we may choose to postpone, reschedule or cancel classes. Should this occur, we will provide the option to participants to apply their class registration fee toward the postponed or rescheduled class, an alternative class or provide a full refund.

We are excited to announce that we have opened a new Facebook group for all past and current trick dog class participants (group or private one to one students can join)! Learn more about trick criteria and some exciting new titles in the trick world that you can earn!

Play dates will resume as soon as possible. Our closure to in-person services falls under the Government of Ontario's Reopening Ontario Act (ROA) which has been extended until February 19th at this time. Please watch carefully for the next newsletter with upcoming dates and times.
