Welcome to the August 2021 edition of the IABC India newsletter. We hope you're safe and doing well.
Using quantitative and qualitative research, IABC recently engaged in discussions, analysis, and a determination of priorities. The result is Stronger Together: IABC2025, a six-pillar strategic plan on how we will operate and grow, focusing on the benefits of membership and addressing the issues raised in the research. Read more about it in this newsletter.
IABC also completed a successful technology transition recently. The new technology will allow for new and improved processes for members. As part of the website migration, your IABC login password needs to be reset. Please reset your password (if not done already) and continue to access the exclusive member-only content available on the IABC website.
In this issue, we focus on GCCC certifications and talk about a few noteworthy awards won by our members, apart from the regular sections featuring your articles, podcasts, videos, and PoVs; the top-10 articles from the IABC Catalyst magazine; and details about upcoming events and webinars. Stronger Together: IABC2025
IABC research identifies challenges, trends, and opportunities leading to a four-year strategic plan
IABC recently conducted a quantitative research comprising 200 global participants, offering assessments of their largest professional challenge and global trends impacting the communications field.
The study was a revelation about the top challenges faced by communication professionals worldwide. A few are listed for a quick glance:
Fragmented audiences and the speed of change require new skills and ways of working
An increased workload, both in time and responsibilities, is affecting corporate and agency professionals
Competing organizational priorities have resulted in smaller communications budgets and fewer resources for those professionals
Career development (8%) and mistrust of business (8%) remain significant barriers in accomplishing individual and team goals
The Communication Management Professional (CMP) and Strategic Communication Management Professional (SCMP) certifications are offered by the Global Communication Certification Council (GCCC®). The certification from the GCCC shows competence in Ethics, Strategy, Analysis, Context, Engagement, and Consistency.
It’s been quite an august month for awards and accolades—with special recognition received by a few of our members, making the IABC India Chapter proud.
Reputation Today recently announced the 30 Top Corporate Communications Teams for 2021. The nominations were evaluated on parameters such as team responsibilities, team budgets, award-winning campaigns, and so on. Among the top 30 list, Samsung was ranked 6 and VFS Global was ranked 20.
Please join us in congratulating IABC India’s Abanti Banik (Samsung) and Sukanya Chakraborty (VFS Global) for making it to this prestigious list.
Reputation Today also published a list of the Top 20 Global Indians, recognizing communications professionals from India in international roles. We congratulate Bhavna Satyanarayan, from BASF, for being featured in this list.
Saachi Dhillon, from National Geographic, merits a special mention as she was honored in the PR & Communications Aces Award. The coveted awards from IndiaTelevision.com recognize India's best 50 young PR and communication professionals.
Hearty congratulations to the fabulous four from all of us at IABC India.
