Watch the 2020 IABC Excellence Gala
Join IABC and the global community of communication professionals virtually to watch the recording of the 2020 Excellence Gala, in which we inducted the 2020 class of IABC Fellows and honored winners of the Chair’s Award, the Rae Hamlin Award, and the 2020 IABC Gold Quill Awards.
A highlight of the event was the honor conferred upon IABC India's Dr. (Col.) Rajeev Kumar. Here's an excerpt from Rajeev's inspiring fellowship acceptance speech:
“Twenty years ago, I was doing my doctoral studies and I joined IABC as a student member. I received a very warm welcome and my quest for knowledge and experience was greatly supported. I fell in love with IABC and this global network of friendly communication experts soon became my second family.
There have been several IABC elders whom I have admired and looked up to and drawn inspiration from during the past two decades and I thank them all for their continuous guidance...
I also wish to thank the strong India chapter, the dynamic leaders of the APAC region, the always helpful IABC staff, and the wise members of the several councils and committees that I have had the privilege and pleasure to work with. All these years of working together have been full of learning and joy and the real silver lining has been that of developing enriching friendships across the globe.
As I look back, I can see many years of hard work and continuous learning, and my advice to all is that we should not take our talent for granted. We have to be dedicated to the communication craft—there is no end to learning.”
- Dr. (Col.) Rajeev Kumar, ABC, IABC Fellow
