In the Spotlight

“Staying connected to the SPS community is crucial. ... I accelerated my involvement with SPS and made time to support the community despite how busy we all are. This is the time to make a difference.”

Catarina Carvalho '18SPS, Sustainability Management
Last month, Engineering News-Record (ENR) named Catarina Carvalho (’18SPS, Sustainability Management) a “National Top 20 Under 40” professional in recognition of her exceptional industry portfolio and rapid professional growth in the design and construction field. Carvalho, who is an associate for sustainable design firm Arup, was selected from nearly 600 nominees from all 50 states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico.

She’s also deeply committed to helping to build a supportive sustainability community of professionals. As an alumna, she has served as a mentor to SPS students across programs. Her advice for current students? Read more.
