Dear Rivertowners,
I want to take this opportunity to thank you for your commitment and support over the past three years.
This is an exciting time in the history of our Chamber. This week we inducted a new Board and celebrate a new President!
With this celebration, I would also like to take a moment and reflect on all of the successful firsts we have had over the past three years.
As a Board, we have had a vision of expanding the Chamber membership to the point where we could have a complete Executive Board, with Village representatives in each of the four Villages we encompass. For the first time in our history, I’m proud to say we’ve accomplished that!
We have also had an idea to bring the Villages together with a coordinated calendar of events, where you could travel from town to town on a trolley, and while it’s not an everyday event yet, we’ve been able to host two Holiday trolleys where neighbors can shop and dine while traveling from Village to Village on shop small weekend.
We sponsored the first Pride event in the Villages, where folks could ride from town to town on the trolley to shop, dine and enjoy time with friends, family and loved ones.
We partnered with the Rivertowns Public Market to host the first large scale premier foodie event in the Rivertowns, and we worked with On-the-Line and Westchester County government to help combat food insecurity during the first, and hopefully only, pandemic in our life time.
We were also able to hire our first Executive Director, which has been a long term goal of ours over the past three years.
To the current Board, I say thank you for all of your time and commitment, because without you, none of this is possible.
To the incoming Board, I say congratulations, and I look forward to working with you to further expand the Chamber with the vision our new President, Michelle Adams, has going forward.
And to our new President, Michelle, I say congratulations and thank you for all of your support over the past three years. You are going to do an amazing job! It has been an honor and pleasure working with you and getting to know you, and I’m glad to pass the gavel to you in 2021.
Yours in business,
Nick
