Hello Dear Partners & Friends,
We are happy to finally be writing to you! I know it's been a while since we sent an update. Of course those of you who follow us on Facebook have caught some of our quick updates. It has been a busy first 5 & 1/2 weeks here in Poland! We have become familiar with Trójmiasto (Three Cities), the area of Poland we now call home. In our first three weeks we had walked over 100 miles as we were getting to know our surroundings. We were also busy helping Zoe Church move into their new location. This is our home church here in Poland and is the place where Rhema Bible College will meet. Much work had to be done in getting the facility ready for service, but we are moved in and it's a great beginning!
Last Friday, we moved to another apartment here in Gdynia that is much closer to the central train station. It will be helpful for us to have only a 10 minute walk to the train station every morning as we begin Language School on Monday, Sept. 16th. For this first semester, we will be full time students Monday - Friday 4 & 1/2 hours each day beginning to learn the Polish language. It will be an intensive few months, but so important for our purposes here. A missionary cannot truly be effective if they cannot communicate. We have been out meeting many people and speaking the Polish phrases we know, and the people so appreciate it. Their faces light up when you say a new word or phrase that haven't heard you say before, but to really be able to make a deposit into people's lives we must be able to understand them & have them understand us. THANK YOU for praying for us as we begin this intense study. We are believing God for great understanding, ability and retention of the things we learn.
We had the privilege Saturday to travel to Bydgoszcz, a city about 200km from Gdynia. We were able to meet with a group of Pastors and share with them about the Bible School that will begin in 2020. Many were excited, and we will be going back to Bydgosccz to minister and build relationship with these hungry leaders soon.
In mid-October we will travel to the Polish capital of Warsaw to teach and train Pastors and leaders from all over Poland in the area of church planting in the largest Pentecostal church in the country. This is the first of such training in the nation of Poland so we thank God that He has opened this door to us. He truly opens doors that no man can shut.
To you, our faithful Partners, Thank YOU!!! Thank you for coming along on this journey with us, linking your arms with ours and offering such strength & support! We have definitely felt the prayers as we were adjusting to the culture those first few weeks. I know we have said this before, but it comes from our hearts when we say what a privilege it is to be your representative here in Poland! YOU are touching lives and we know that much fruit will be harvested.
Mother Teresa said: “I can do things you cannot, you can do things I cannot, together we can do great things.” In Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 we are reminded of the benefits that come when we choose to partner together. 1. We accomplish more: vs9. “Two are better than one, because there is a good reward for their labor together. 2. Complement each other: vs10. “For if they fall then one will help up his companion.” 3. Supply support and warmth for each other: vs11. “Also, if two lie down together, then they will keep warm…” 4. Give strength for each other: vs12. “And if someone might overpower another by himself, two together can withstand him. A threefold cord is not quickly broken.”
Simply put, partnership is “Working together – voicing the truth, living the victory, and ministering the life changing power of the Gospel. We are called to minister together. God has places for us to go and people for us to reach. Together, we are fulfilling the mission to which He called the Church.
We love you and faithfully pray for you. It thrills our hearts to hear great reports from our Partners sharing how the Lord is moving in their personal lives, families and churches! Thank you for letting us be a part of your lives!!
Keep stirring up the gift of God that is in you and let Him use you for His glory!!!
With great joy & thankfulness for you,
Steve & Pam
