ART, CREATIVITY & SOCIAL CHANGE_

Earlier this month we hosted a Conversations for Change event focusing on how art and creativity can help you amplify your social action as well as support your own mental health. For those who don’t know Conversations for Change events are alumni networking events where we create a space for Diana Award alumni to come together, build connections and discuss social issues.

Our next event will be in November so do keep an eye out!

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU_

As you may know, October is Black History Month in the UK. This national celebration aims to promote and celebrate Black contributions to British society, and to foster an understanding of Black history in general. We want to hear from you to plan our own celebration of Black History Month (BHM), and so we are hosting a BHM planning group on Friday 25th September at 16:30 – 17:30 BST.

We would love to invite you to attend this virtual brainstorming session and are keen to hear your thoughts!

1 MILLION AND COUNTING_

We are thrilled to share that we're expecting over 1,000,000 students to watch The Big Anti-Bullying Assembly 2020 this upcoming Monday! Wow!

The Big Assembly will be broadcast to primary schools Monday 28 September. Presenters and a host of celebrities are all getting involved to help pledge to end bullying in schools and inspire children to do the same.

This month to mark International Day of Peace we heard from 2020 Diana Award recipient Sarah Goody who is a fiercely committed climate change activist based in California, USA.

Sarah writes: In 2020, the world has seen a rough start to a new decade that has already included a global pandemic, social unrest, and increased awareness around systemic oppression. It’s no wonder that turbulence and violence have been on the rise this year. In a one month period from May to June, homicides increased by 37% in 20 major US cities.
