IBU GATHERS MEMBERS FEEDBACK ON CONSTITUTION & STRATEGIC PLAN


The IBU Executive Board convened in Znojmo, Czech Republic on 12-14 July 2019. It finalised the first draft of the IBU’s Strategic Plan and of the new IBU Constitution. Both documents were sent to the National Federations for their feedback. KAISA´S SUMMER IN THE MOUNTAINS


The three-times BMW IBU World Cup Total Score winner Kaisa Mäkäräinen of Finland has decided to stay in biathlon for at least one more season. In order to prepare as good as she can and with her sights at the IBU World Championships in Antholz - Anterselva, Italy she travelled to Europe in the middle of June and also made a stop in Correncon-en-Vercors, where Marie Dorin Habert owns a sports hotel... IBU JOINS IOC COCOM BEIJING 2022

“The meeting started with site visits for Biathlon and the Nordic disciplines in Zhangjiakou. The construction of the biathlon shooting range is ongoing as well as the construction of the adjacent administrative building. JT BOE NOMINATED FOR EUROPEAN FAIR PLAY MOVEMENT AWARD


The European Fair Play Movement has nominated Johannes Thingnes Boe of Norway for outstanding behaviour and attitude during this year’s BMW IBU World Cup in Soldier Hollow, USA.
The winner of the Total Score title and of record breaking 16 competitions in this season had admitted an own rule breach in the Pursuit, when he informed the IBU after the competition that he had fired only four of his five bullets at the last standing shooting. The awards will be presented at the EFPM Congress in Budapest, 11 - 14 September 2019.... Read more
COMING UP NEXT

IBU SUMMER BIATHLON WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS


The IBU Summer Biathlon World Championships (IBU SBWCH) will take place in Minsk-Raubichi, Belarus between 21 - 25 August 2019. Junior Women, Junior Men, Women and Men will compete in Super Sprint, Sprint and Pursuit competitions for 12 sets of medals. Last season  at the IBU SBWCH in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic, the host nation dominated with 13 medals, followed by Russia and Poland with 5 medals each.

148TH IBU EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING


The IBU Executive Board will convene for its 148th Meeting in Munich, Germany, from 30 August – 1 September 2019. 
 

BIATHLON FESTIVALS FRAMING SBWCH


Three summer festivals of biathlon are framing the SBWCH in Minsk: Sandnes, Norway will host Blink Skifestivalen between 31 July and 03 August 2019. On 11 August, Wiesbaden will welcome some of the biggest BMW IBU World Cup stars on its streets, including Total Score winners 2018/2019, Dorothea Wierer and JT Boe. On 31 August and 01 September 2019 Martin Fourcade will inaugurate the Martin Fourcade Nordic Festival in Annecy, France. A race that will feature biathlon’s contemporary greats as well as big names from crosscountry skiing.
