The Hill Has Eyes: Congressional Oversight of Intelligence, 6:30-9pm at Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center(Amphitheater (Concourse Level), 1300 Pennsylvania Ave NW). For decades, Congress's role in overseeing the US Intelligence Community (IC) has been debated widely. While a critical component for ensuring accountability of the IC, the oversight structures implemented following the 1975 Church and Pike Committees have created an often contentious relationship between Congress and US intelligence agencies. FREE

CSO & ASBPA Coastal Celebration Reception, 5:30-7:30pm at 902 Hart Senate Office BuildingThis widely attended reception is an opportunity to bring together leaders working at all levels in coastal communities, including businesses and industry, conservation groups and environmental non-profits, state coastal managers, coastal scientists and engineers, and others to discuss important coastal issues. FREE

Tudor Nights: Raise a Glass to Prohibition!, 6:30-8:30pm at Tudor Place (1644 31st Street NW). Join us for a unique look at Prohibition through the eyes of the Peter family at Tudor Place. This special salute to the Prohibition era features an exclusive look at objects and ephemeral from 1920-1933 in the Tudor Place archive and collection. The special exhibition is followed by cocktails and light hors d'oeuvres at the Victorian-style Dower House. $15

Saturday, March 16

Fundraiser Dinner for HI USA and José Andrés' World Central Kitchen, 5-7pm at Hostelling International DC (1009 11th Street Northwest). Join us for a Puerto Rican Dinner Reception on Saturday, March 16 from 5-7 pm at Hostelling International DC to benefit Hostelling International USA's Explore the World Scholarship program and World Central Kitchen, a non-profit founded by chef José Andrés to combat poverty and hunger. Co-hosted by Jessica van Dop DeJesus of The Dining Traveler and Hostelling International DC, the fundraiser features a raffle, Puerto Rican food buffet, and live bomba performance by Proyecto Piquete. $50
