Tuesday, February 26

“KAMPAI! FOR THE LOVE OF SAKE” Film Screening & Special Sake Tasting, 6:45-9:45pm at Freer Gallery of Art (1050 Independence Avenue Southwest). Join the Embassy of Japan for a two-night premium sake tasting tour where you’ll sample Japan’s most prestigious sake brands. We’ll start the evening with a viewing of the award-winning film “KAMPAI! FOR THE LOVE OF SAKE”. You’ll also have the chance to learn tips from three world-renowned “Sake Samarai” experts to enhance your tasting experience. FREE

Wednesday, February 27

Latinx Immigrant Stories & the Arts - Panel, 6-8:30pm at Embassy of Peru (1700 Massachusetts Ave NW). The performing arts provide an important platform for Latinx immigrant stories to be shared with local, national, and international communities to promote cross-cultural understanding and demonstrate the diversity of the Latinx world, as it's represented in the United States. Light reception to follow. FREE

Thursday, February 28

Ambassador Insider Series - Republic of Congo, 6-9pm at Embassy of the Republic of Congo (1720 16th Street NW). Ambassador Serge Mombouli, the dean of the African diplomatic corps in the U.S., will discuss these and other issues at The Washington Diplomat’s Ambassador Insider Series on Thu., Feb. 28 at the Congolese Embassy. FREE

Friday, March 1

Heavenly Hundred Commemoration - Charitable Concert, 6-10pm at Embassy of Ukraine in Washington DC (3350 M Street Northwest).  Please join us on March 1st, 2019 for the concert and reception to follow. In the program, classical piano music performed by Pavel Gintov. Funds raised at the event will be used to benefit wounded Ukrainian soldiers (project CURE). $50

Saturday, March 2

Master Class: Kronos Quartet, 11am-1pm at Freer Gallery of Art, Meyer Auditorium (Jefferson Drive at 12th Street SW). Members of the Grammy-winning Kronos Quartet coach student quartets from the Peabody Institute (Bergamot Quartet) at Johns Hopkins University and Shenandoah Conservatory. The quartets will prepare new works from Kronos' Fifty for the Future multi-year commissioning initiative, including Yessori by Soo Yeon Lyuh and Dance by Franghiz Ali-Zadeh. FREE
