My Emmaus Walk
Nothing gets one’s more than a personal talk with God at the base of a life-sized crucifix of His Son. At that moment my mind cleared of all the anger and frustration I’d felt at not being able to spend quality time with my own grandchildren because of their physical distance and actual incredibly busy schedules. My Walk to Emmaus made this clear to me and made me realize that if I couldn’t spend enough time with my own grandchildren, there were children without grandparents who need me just as much. One single parent of a family of seven adopted children was right at my table and we just clicked. Since meeting at our walk, I’ve spent time with my new friend-and-sister’s family, getting acquainted, dyeing Easter eggs and baking goods for their school carnival. We are both looking forward to a long-extended family relationship filled with hope and love.
