Congratulations Sharon!
We would like to say huge congratulations to Sharon, our Administration Assistant, who completed her Introduction and Improvers courses in British Sign Language! Both courses ran over 8 weeks, and she learnt basic signing like the alphabet, numbers, and colours, to even signing full songs.

This is a study day for clinical staff who deliver NHS Health Checks in primary care. The training covers all aspects of the programme, including a step-by-step look at what’s involved and why it's important.

A two-hour online collective inquiry into our experience of power in the workplace – and of the ways in which we might ethically improve our organisational presence and practice in this respect.

Learning and development funds
Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and Workforce Development funding for Nursing and Allied Health Professionals. Cannot be accessed by GPs. It can support short courses, conferences, and university modules.
|

Apprenticeship levy
Funds to pay for 100% of the training costs for both clinical and non-clinical apprenticeships. Available to everyone at all levels (new starters and existing members of staff). Allows learners to gain a qualification whilst earning a salary.
|
|
|
Phoenix Programme
If you are a GP needing advice about your career development, please liaise with a member of the Phoenix Programme who will be able to discuss career support options with you.

We met with the University of Nottingham pharmacy team to agree on processes and the delivery going forward. We hope to obtain requirements from HEIs for 22/23 academic year.

We led a teaching session with the Early Career GPs from the Phoenix Programme. We tailored the teaching to searches they would normally carry out in their day-to-day role.

We received approval from HEE Midlands to fund 26 individuals on the MSc ACP course. HEE have funded an additional 3 apprenticeship places, taking our total to 29!

We continue to receive positive feedback! We have updated the MPSU web page. We are planning to liaise with social prescribing leads to help identify future needs.

Social Prescribing Link Worker Educational Community of Practice
For Social Prescribing Link Workers. Connects and fosters shared learning and peer support. Operates via a WhatsApp group to stay connected, with bespoke educational events to develop skills and knowledge. Runs every 2 months.

ICS Primary Care Advanced Practice Network
For people training or working in advanced practice within primary care. Promotes collaborative working, and effective and safe practice within the ICS. Provides educational and supervisory support for Advanced Practitioners. Runs every 2 months.

For anybody working in general practice undertaking respiratory reviews / who has an interest in respiratory care. Supports networking, quality improvement work and enables discussions around changes in local and national guidance. Runs every 2-months.

For Nurses, Healthcare Assistants, Nursing Associates and Trainee Nursing Associates only. An opportunity to network with fellow colleagues across Nottingham and Nottinghamshire, and offer support and guidance. Runs once a month.

Pharmacy Technician Network
New network aimed at all Pharmacy Technicians across all healthcare sectors. To provide networking and support opportunities, as well as to increase potential collaboration. First meeting in November. Frequency thereafter to be agreed by attendees.
