Last week, Samson Williams, President of the Crowdfunding Professional Association, sent a formal letter to the White House to urge officials to exempt a rule to increase crowdfunding for micro-enterprises. Equity crowdfunding under Title III (Regulation CF) of the JOBS Act allows private early-stage companies to raise money from the general public. Unfortunately, the freeze applies to pending changes of the cap for Regulation CF from $1 million to $5 million and for Regulation A from $50 mullions to $75 million, which were on track to go into effect March 15, 2021.
