Hey you all!

Come and discover with us how a group of investors from Romania saw the light thanks to the ESIL program; benefit from the new online free courses for entrepreneurs powered by Invest Horizon, and take a look at the latest challenge proposed by GEN together with the Municipality of Sulmona: 'Technology can save lives'. But first of all, we have great news to announce: Biogenera, one of META Ventures portfolio companies, is on the path to an IPO!
IPO exit route!!! Biogenera startup will merge with Life Care Capital

META, as a cornerstone investor, in partnership with Italian Angels for Growth, Emilia-Romagna Region, Andrea Pession and Roberto Tonelli, have just signed a framework agreement with Life Care Capital SpA, leading to a merger by incorporation of LCC into BIOGENERA SpA.

‘For META, this is the confirmation that seeking excellence in Italian and European Universities and Research Centres - a path that we have started to pioneer since 1993 - can generate results of great value. There is still a lot to do. Our hope is that Biogenera can, with its example, change the speed and effectiveness of the dialogue between universities, research, knowledge-intensive companies and investors, in order to have many other stories like this soon – from Knowledge to Market!’, declares Luigi Amati, chairman of META Group.

Business Angel group starts in Romania with the help of ESIL

Growceanu Angel Investment is the first Business Angel group established in Western Romania. As it happened in other countries such as Armenia and Malta, being part of the ESIL program has been key for this group of 15 investors to take its first steps. "We were asking existential questions about angel investment when we knew about the ESIL program. It was the perfect timing. We learned a lot," says Ciprian Man, founder of the group.
