TIME TRAVEL AT THE FALL MEETING

At our recent Shift Zero fall meeting, one of the small group discussions invited participants to envision the year 2050, when we’ve met our decarbonization goals. How did we get here? What did we achieve along the way? Responses included:
  • The communal advantages of equity were recognized, prioritized, and realized.
  • Health and resiliency were key messages that created political will for bold state mandates.
  • We changed the market metrics and made the zero code vision cheaper to implement.
  • We focused on affordable housing to move the rest of the market to zero carbon.
This discussion will continue as we work to refine a collective vision for decarbonizing buildings. Thank you to all who were able to attend the fall meeting!
