Club training at Dinnet Muir this Sunday
We have a full club training session planned for Dinnet Muir this Sunday, 17th Nov. It will involve technical skills practice for all levels, from beginner to expert and for all ages 5-85! Dan Gooch will be the lead coach for the day. New club members and their families are especially welcome to come and join in the fun. These sessions are always a good opportunity to meet and chat with other members as well as getting some useful practice in. We will meet at Burn o' Vat car park, ready to start the session at 10:30 am and it will run until ~12:00pm. Adults £2, Juniors £1. Please ensure that you sign up for the sessions here, so that we know how many maps to print and to allocate everyone to appropriate training groups.

The Cambus O’May event was blessed with some beautiful but very frosty weather ensuring that competitors turned out in droves to take part – over 280 in fact!  The numbers had been given a huge boost by the addition of the Scottish Junior Inter Areas Championships and the Scottish University Championships which were held alongside.  It was a long and very cold day for the Juniors but they were all in great spirits and congratulations to the North Area for lifting the Inter-Areas trophy!

It was a great day of competition with the boys from Maroc turning out some impressive results with wins for Matthew Gooch M18  (Brown), Adam Barrie M16  (Light Green) and Tristan Wallace M10 (White) as well as a 2nd place for Ewan Musgrave M16 (Blue), 3rd for John Getliff M18 (Blue) & Paul Mather M40 (Green), 4th for Jonas Newey M16 (Light Green), Dirk Wallis M40 (Green), Cameron Cormack M10 (White) and 5th place for both Ewan Bennett M16 (Light Green) and Ben Redmond M10 (Yellow) with Andy Tivendale M70 (Green) in 6th

For the girls, Page Provan finished a brilliant 2nd on the White course,  and Eilidh Campbell 5th on Blue.

I’d like to say a huge thanks to the following volunteers for making the day go more smoothly that I could ever have imagined (despite the Portaloo delivery driver putting the wrong post code into his sat nav and ending up in Turriff!!)

Thanks to Planner Trevor Ricketts and Controller Paul Duley (Gramp) who helped keep me on the right track.
Matthew Gooch for doing such a great job in his new role as Computer officer for the club.
