Hi <<First Name>>

Psalm 46:1-2, 7-8
  • God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
    Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be moved, and though the mountains be toppled into the depths of the sea;
    The nations make much ado, and the kingdoms are shaken; God has spoken, and the earth shall melt away.
    The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob  is our stronghold.
The work of local congregations gathered in prayer and worship is essential in the time of crisis. God’s people have a long, long history of ministry during crisis including plagues. Therefore we will utilize the tools available to us to equip you for worship and prayer during the Corona Virus/Covid19/Wuhan Virus outbreak. St. Peter does not shame or guilt trip anyone for following the strict social distancing guidelines the government has set. These things need not be presented as false alternatives.
Don’t forget that we already broadcast our worship service each week on Texas Thunder Radio 99.7 & 94.3 FM. They simulcast over the internet if you’re out of radio range. Until we’re notified otherwise, we’ll maintain this, even if we need to do so with an abbreviated worship service. Our facilities allow for ample social distancing with seating in excess of 360 people (with the closed-circuit feed to the fellowship hall). One household per every other pew or similar would still leave plenty of room. You may consider attending on Saturdays at 5:00 PM as well.
Solid Rock evaluated their circumstances as well. The state of Texas has imposed additional regulations on them and they will be checking the temperature of everyone who enters the licensed building spaces. This includes everyone-even you; yes, you too- who comes and goes from school spaces. Those with temperatures over 99 degrees will be denied entry per the state of Texas’ regulations. They will follow Hallettsville ISD’s outbreak closure schedule and will be closed next week, March 23-27.
As we head into the next weeks of the virus outbreak, it seems prudent to suspend any unnecessary meetings or groups at St. Peter, including but not limited to all of our regularly scheduled commission and committee meetings. Of course email and phone and apps like Skype will serve as a reasonable substitute when something comes up. In fact, please don’t hesitate to stay in contact with one another. Make a phone call, send a text or email, use Facetime (ask your grandkids) and see how one another are doing. Don’t leave each other behind. Help each other meet one another’s needs (low on groceries or medicine or toiletries?). Be sure to include prayers for your neighbors and community. Perhaps a good goal is for each person in the congregation to reach out to one other person in the congregation (not in their home) each day during these restrictions.
Following our Wednesday Lent dinner and prayer service, we decided to end them this week. We will email the remaining readings and an abbreviated liturgy for you to follow at home. We anticipate emailing something similar for Sundays’ liturgies as well to equip you to follow along at home.
We thank you for your patience during these trying times. We’ve got to be a crew to sail through this together.
Don’t forget your offerings and tithes while you are away. St. Peter has safe, secure, and easy e-giving options available to you on our website You may also mail your check to St. Peter at 100 N. Promenade Hallettsville, TX  77964. Several weeks of little to no giving will result in a new crisis for us when attempting to pay our bills and taxes and so forth. It will help you continue to feel connected to God and this congregation. Thank you for remembering to do this. We continue to have much to be grateful for as we offer in thanksgiving what God has first given us.
Give Electronically
Warmest regards,
-St. Peter Office
