67 So Jesus asked the twelve, “Do you also wish to go away?” 68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom can we go? You have the words of eternal life. (John 6:67-68)
Peter recognized that even though the things Jesus said and did were sometimes difficult to understand and at times controversial, still Jesus had the words that bring life.  Peter could not go to any other person, or to any other place to find the kind of life that Jesus gives:  life that is real and lasting.  Jesus is the same to us today.  Who else can we go to?  Where else can we run to find the kind of love and life that God shows us?  May we like Peter, remember who it is that we're with---that Jesus is good, he is loving, he is faithful and trustworthy, even when others may not understand (even when we don't fully understand) we know we can stick with Jesus and find the life we long for.

UPCOMING MEETINGS

Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) MEETING >Wed May 19th at 6:30pm

SEEK

WORSHIP INDOORS  ON SUNDAY (with singing)

Due to recent changes in COVID guidance from the Annual Conference we will be worshipping inside for the foreseeable future (and we will be singing indoors).   Drive-In and Online will still be available.  As always, please check your health before you come, bring a mask, and maintain 6ft distance from others.   It is a powerful thing when we gather together as the Body of Christ because we know that when we do, God is present with us.
>> Hebrews 10:24-25:  24 And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching.<<

THE CHOSEN - Watch and Discuss
The Chosen is a tv show that tells the story of Jesus life as you have never seen it before.  Unlike some Christian-made movies and shows, this series is very well made, thought provoking, and faith inspiring.   This spring and summer on select Sunday afternoons starting May 23rd at 1pm we will watch episodes of season 1 together with some brief time of discussion after each episode.  Invite your friends.  All ages welcome.    If you are a parent with young children we will have childcare available as need,  let Pastor Sarah know ahead of time (540-209-7409) so we can prepare.

SERVE

CLOVER HILL COOKS CONNECTION:  ADOPT A FRIEND
We need some volunteers willing to share a little love with some of our members.  If you'd be willing to make a little extra food or or some baked goods to share with some of our members, we ask you to sign up for Adopt a Friend.  This is one small way we can reach out in love to serve and bless one another and members of our community.  If there are folks you are aware of who we should add to the list contact Jan Rhodes or  Pastor Sarah.

CANS FOR CONFERENCE
Join us is collecting non-perishable canned food items for Annual Conference.  This year Annual Conference will be online, therefore the Harrisonburg District (along with the other districts of our conference) will be collecting canned food items to be distributed to local food pantries.   While we continue to support The West Rockingham Food Pantry,  we invite you to go the extra mile and bring one or two canned food items with you to worship each week.   If everyone brings a couple cans a week over the next month leading up to the collection June 19 we will raise up to 300 cans to donate!!  Raid your pantry or  grab some extra cans at the grocery store and help us make this happen!

SCHOOL KITS:  Thanks to last years donation and Ms. Viola's hard work we have 57 school kits ready to donate as well.  These will go to local schools in our area.
