Winnetka Park District LogoUpdate from the Winnetka Park District: Park District to acquire lakefront property
After months of due diligence by the Winnetka Park District’s board of commissioners and staff, the Park District is acquiring the lakefront single-family home and lot that separates Elder Lane Beach and Centennial Beach, allowing the two parks and beaches to be combined into one. The transaction is being accomplished through a property exchange agreement, which results in the Park District exchanging the southernmost end of Centennial Park/Beach for the lakefront property between Elder Lane Park/Beach and Centennial Park/Beach. Read more on the Winnetka Park District's website.
Leaf Collection begins October 19

The Village’s annual curbside leaf collection program will run from October 19, 2020 until November 30, 2020. Residents may rake their leaves to the parkway just inside the edge of the curb for collection by the Village. Please do not place pumpkins or debris other than leaves for collection, as it will damage the leaf collecting equipment (pumpkin collection will be November 4). View a map of the rotating order in which leaves will be collected, by numbered zone, on our website.
Leaves collected are then hauled to Antioch, IL for composting, which the Village then receives back in early spring for residents to use as compost material. For more information, please contact the Public Works Department at 847-716-3568.
Utility Pole Inspections begin October 20
The Village has contracted with Osmose Utilities Services to conduct the annual inspection and maintenance of wooden utility poles. The majority of the poles to be inspected are in the southwest area of the Village. Read more on our website.
