The North Shore Triathlon will take place on Sunday, September 18 along Sheridan Road south of Winnetka Avenue, on Winnetka Avenue from Sheridan Road to Green Bay Road, and on Wilson Street from Winnetka Avenue to Willow Road. These streets will be closed to vehicle traffic from 6:30 – 9:30 AM. Please use Green Bay Road as an alternate route until Sheridan Road re-opens at 9:30 AM.
Residents impacted by these road closures received a letter from Precision Multisport, the event organizer, noting that they will not have access to their driveways during the road closures and advising to park on side streets overnight, as overnight parking enforcement in these areas will be waived the night before the race.

Safe T Act Information
Social media coverage of the “Safe T” Act, the legislation eliminating cash bail that takes effect January 1, 2023, has led to misinformation circulating about the intention and possible impacts of the legislation. If you would like to learn more, WGN News has published a fact-checking article about this legislation.
The Winnetka Police Department engaged with local elected officials to discuss concerns about the original bill and provided input for the multiple associated trailer bills before they were voted into law, and the Police Department continues to attend weekly meetings held by Cook County to get a better sense of the logistics associated with this new legislation, as new guidelines are being determined. As this legislation is brand new, it will take some time to see what impact it has, but the Winnetka Police Department will remain as committed as ever to protecting the security of Winnetkans.
