November 2018                                                                                                                          Vol. 1, No. 3
Journey to Bethlehem Next Weekend
Next weekend, Nov. 30-Dec.2, promises to be a spiritual as well as family time. Both Cicero SDA Church and LaPorte SDA Church are offering outdoor live Journey to Bethlehem events.  Plan to take your friends and family to see and relive the story of our Saviour’s birth.
Conference Evangelist Eric Freking continued his Unlock Revelation series at the Hammond SDA Church in Hammond, IN, with about 55 nonmembers attending. Pastor Daniel Saez, Beatriz Freking, and church members assisted with the evangelism program. The series ends on November 27, and church members will continue to study with those interested in learning more. After the recent Fort Wayne series, eleven people were baptized.
The Indiana Conference welcomes Faith Nico as Human Resources Director and Administrative Assistant to the Treasurer.  She joins us from Berrien Springs, Michigan, where she recently has completed an M.B.A.  Welcome, Faith!  She comes to replace Je Ann Semeleer, who has taken a position at the University of Chicago as Human Resources Specialist. We have greatly appreciated Je Ann’s contributions to our conference office services, and wish her God’s blessing.
An adult Sabbath School Workshop was held on Sabbath, October 6, at the Kokomo church, covering the vitally important topic of retaining and reclaiming young adults. Kaleb Eisele was the speaker for the English sessions, with Pastor Nelson Silva providing the Spanish presentations.
We are happy to welcome Jack Phillips, It Is Written Bible Worker, into our Central Indiana Conference Family. Jack and his wife, Crystal, and daughter, Layla, will be with us for the next two years as Jack trains our lay members to be Bible workers in the central region. His passion is visiting, preaching, and training to further the gospel wherever he goes.   When asked how Indiana members can get involved, he said, “It's time to take our witness to the next level. In our trainings we will practice how to find interests and engage them in Bible Studies. We all have friends and family that need Jesus – so let’s get started! Commit yourselves to Ignite Indiana and God will use you in this great work!”
Successful evangelism begins with prayer. Ignite Indiana is well under way, and our first work is to pray, because gathering together in prayer will accomplish great things! So, let’s gather!  In 2019 we will come together for prayer four times throughout the year. These special prayer meetings will help us to intentionally pray for Indiana, the Holy Spirit, for revival, and much more. Please plan to make a special effort to join your brothers and sisters in Christ as we endeavor to make prayer a priority in Indiana. This is a joint effort, and we are excited about the possibilities ahead for all of our churches.
---Jack Phillips

“We want to thank Pastor Ernie and Karen Peckham for their twenty-one years of service in our Conference.  They have faithfully served in the Cicero, Terre Haute, and Plymouth districts and have been loved by each of their church families. We will miss them both and wish God’s many blessings as they transition into retirement.  Pastor Ernie is planning to continue his writing ministry where he posts daily spiritual reflections from scripture.  Pastor Richard Norris will be serving his district.
Cicero SDA Church gave a farewell scrapbook gift to the Van Schaik family in November.  Carolyn Rollins and Ingrid Jacobs presented it to Vic and Angela and Sofia.

Glendale SDA Church featured Dwayne Leslie, General Conference Religious Liberty Department, as their speaker for a Religious Liberty Sabbath service held November 3.

Pastor Luis Rivas reports that they finished their evangelist meetings at Indianapolis Second SDA Church with eight people for baptism and the glory of God.  Three people from Ephesus church and and five from Indy Second.
Pastor Fernando Pizarro completed his evangelist campaign at Clarksville Hispanic Church and has 10 people accepting Christ, and they will prepare for baptism.
Laura Bishop was baptized into the Family of God October 13th at the North Vernon Seventh-Day Adventist Church, Pastor Jose Gonzales presiding.  She is continuing to study a Daniel Seminar with Sister Ellen Thornton and when finished will go through Discipleship Training. She was impressed with new truths that she was learning and expressed several times to Sister Ellen and to the Pastor that the truth was there plain and simple.

Pastor Joseph Quiles baptized Linda Thompson on June 16th at Jeffersonville Church.  Others joined the church by profession of faith.
Psalm 95:1-5

Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord;
Let us shout aloud to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.
For the Lord is the great God, the great King above all gods.
In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him.
The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land.

New International Version (NIV)
We lift our voice in praise and adoration to you. You Lord, owner of all and keeper of those who love you -- we are not worthy to call upon your name, but we thank you for your continual and steadfast grace and mercy to your children.
As we experience the Thanksgiving and Christmas seasons, we know that truly every single day brings us another chance to give thanks and to glorify your most Holy name.

May we continue to grow in you as we seek your presence daily, and may joy rein in our hearts as we anticipate the excitement of your soon return to take the faithful home. Where we will praise you for ever and ever, Amen!"
