Sunday Message: Think Again
with Rev. Amani Malaika
Special Music with The ABQ CSL Players

All that we are is the result of what we have thought.
--Buddha, The Dhammapada

Join in our study of compassion and lovingkindness, based on Rabbi Rami Shapiro’s book: The Sacred Art of Lovingkindness: Preparing to Practice. If you wish to get a copy, you can:
Order from Bookstop (benefits local bookstores)
Order from Amazon Smile (a small portion benefits ABQ CSL)

We teach in Science of Mind that our thoughts co-create our reality. This idea runs through many of the world's faith traditions and philosophies, including Buddhism. Much of our work, then, as creative beings is to mind our thoughts, beliefs, and the stories we tell. When we empty ourselves of falsehoods and misperceptions, we open ourselves to Truth and the spaciousness required to practice lovingkindness.

Join us online this Sunday in our virtual sanctuary to make way for more lovingkindness in our lives.

How to Take Action from a Spiritually Grounded Place

  1. Look within first.
  2. Name and feel your feelings.
  3. Look for the “I am” statement that you are believing in the middle of your feelings (e.g., I am just one person, I am confused, I don’t have the resources, I am not experienced).
  4. What do you need?
  5. Be grateful for the opportunity to re-balance by going within and connecting to your divine essence and practicing being that divine essence.
  6. Who will you BE? (Choose the Spirit quality or qualities that you are and say “I AM…”, e.g., I AM power, I AM confidence, I AM truth, I Am a center of divine action.)
  7. Listen for an authentic action using your unique skills/talents/passions and act on it.
  8. Be vigilant and stay humble.

Just remember: SNAP

  • Settle your body
  • Name your feelings
  • Appreciate the opportunity to practice
  • Practice being who you have come here to be
