NEW MISSION
As we worked toward becoming a nonprofit organization, we needed to tweak our mission to be IRS-compliant. Though the term "advocacy organization" has a specific classification to the IRS that we could not continue claiming, we know in our hearts we are advocates. ;) So, drum roll:

Ring of Keys is an artist service organization that fosters community and visibility for musical theatre professionals - onstage and off - who self-identify as queer women, transgender, and gender non-conforming artists.

Meet Key Sarina Rivera (she/her), Technical Designer - specializing in 3D design ranging from figurative sculpture to the fabrication of scenery and props.
What Kind of Art Do You Like to Create?
Technical Design is an artform in which one joins a romantic idea with pragmatic execution. I specialize in 3D design, ranging from figurative sculpture to the fabrication of scenery and props. As a Technical Designer, I provide fabrication concepts for scenic and decorative elements using computer generated 3D models, renderings, and technical drawings, for Broadway shows and theatrical spaces. I find most joy in a collaborative process, creating tangible experiences and objects, which is why I love live theatre.
What is Your Current Project?
As a touring technician, pre-COVID, I used my working knowledge of 3D design and fabrication to run and maintain props for the Broadway tour of Hamilton, the Angelica Company.
Why Did You Want to Become a Key?
I love the idea of having a collective of queer creatives in the theatre community. It is fun to receive updates of likeminded individuals that one would otherwise not cross paths with. Go Keys!
