"The RoK Anti-Racism and the American Theatre workshop was an incredible thing to experience. Right away, the space was blessed with Lindsay Roberts, who established a safe space and delved right into the conversation at hand with grace, expertise and an intention to open and expand in all ways with the group.  I learned so much about tools and literature that will continue to inform and expand my anti-racist actions and practices. The discussion of racism and how much has been manipulated and strategically shifted in the world of theatre was eye-opening in the best ways.Thank you so so much for organizing, this kind of conversation is necessary and unbelievably valuable. Thank you for making it available."

KEYS: The archival video from our Antiracism and The American Theatre Workshop is now available within your Key Dashboard until March 10th.
Meet Key Miss Hazel Jade (she/her/hers), Broadway investor and theatrical storyteller - specializing in dramaturgy, directing, and producing.
What Kind of Art Do You Like to Create?
I'm obsessed with creating art that challenges the way the world thinks about identity and that focuses on the three types of love in one piece: love of self, love of another (or others), and love of community. And that art, for me, has to live outside of the obsession of being "American".
What is Your Current Project?
I'm currently 1000% invested in directing and developing The Regulars, a folk musical about a West Virginia-raised trans man who moves to a folksy upstate town in search of a new type of family, when his own can't love him.

But I'm constantly open to considering other projects to direct and develop, and ideally, in a perfect world, Bridgerton The Musical would be next for me! I think Abigail Barlow & Emily Bear are creating something truly special. Either that, or Nashville, based on the ABC TV show, created by Callie Khori and starring Connie Britton, intrigue me.
Why Did You Want to Become a Key?
I became a Key because, as a Black queer woman, I thoroughly enjoyed the community that was being built by Andrea and Royer!
