ABOUT THE WORKSHOP:
Let’s be honest: creating art is **** stressful! But what if that stress didn’t have to be so draining?
Enter stage left The Resilience Toolkit! This liberation-based framework helps you understand your stress/relaxation cycle, discern when it’s helping you, and when it’s hurting you, and provides a series of practical tools to shift stress in the moment. Join Certified Resilience Toolkit Facilitator, Alison Novelli for this workshop so you can get back to doing what you love and feel more grounded and yourself.

Alison Novelli|they/them/she is a queer feminist, storyteller, and facilitator. They embody this through intimacy coordination, acting, puppetry, and empowering others. As the founder of Cheek to Cheek Intimacy, Novelli is passionate about decreasing stress and co-creating alchemically resilient artistic spaces. They practice cultural humility and take an intersectional approach to all of their work. Outside of the arts, Novelli is an avid reader (nerd alert), dedicated to collective liberation, and obsessed with all things hamburger. ABOUT THE WORKSHOP: In this experiential brain training workshop, you will learn a series of powerful mental practices to rewire your relationship with auditions. These tools will help you reduce your audition stress, access more creativity, joy, and fulfillment in your auditions, and give you a framework to prepare for auditions in a way that supports your mental and physical wellbeing. You’ll leave with a Resilient Audition Log, a guided visualization to help you prepare for your auditions, and a short meditation to use at the time of your auditions!

Emilie Leyes (she/they) is a NYC-based actor, singer, and brain training specialist. She helps actors and other high-empathy individuals use neuroscience-based mental practices to change their brain and body’s response to stress, build inner resources, strengthen the creative brain, and support their wellbeing as they work toward goals. She is formally trained in acting and vocal performance, positive neuroplasticity, positive psychology, clinical hypnosis, and is currently on track to receive a graduate degree in Mind Body Medicine, where she is researching the psychophysiology of acting.

🔑 KEY SPOTLIGHT: Ann James 🔑
Huge congrats to our newest Board Member and Key, Ann James (she/they)! Ann was recently honored at the A.R.T./New York 2022 Gala!
You might remember her work partnering with us and directing, Queering the Canon: SONDHEIM at Joe's Pub this past February, but Ann has also done incredible work as a intimacy director—most recently making their debut as the first Black Intimacy Coordinator of Broadway for Antoinette Nwandu’s PASS OVER.
Congrats, Ann and welcome to our Board of Directors!

CONGRATULATIONS to L Morgan Lee, the first openly Trans performer to be nominated for a Tony Award! Lee was nominated for Best Featured Actress in a Musical for her performance in A Strange Loop on Broadway.
