A Set of Irish Christmas Ideas for 2019

In traditional Irish music, a “set” is a group of three tunes each played three times. If you go to any of our sessions, you’ll hear lots of sets. Playing on this theme last year, I put together a “set” of ideas that would add a bit of Irish to your holiday celebrations, and it was a big hit. To see last year’s ideas click here.

This year, our recipe ideas cover mince pie, Brussels sprouts, and a Bailey's Irish Cream copy. For gifts, we have historical pins, perfume that supports whales, and a nearby shop chock full of Irish gifts. And for music we present one of the best tin whistle players in the world, an innovative mix of old and new, and an expertly compiled playlist of Celtic Christmas music. But this one is so full of fun info, it won't fit in the newsletter. So click the green button below to get all the good stuff.

Irish Cultural Center News

Craobh Dugan's own Mike Hoke has been named Chairman of the Programs Committee for the Irish Cultural Center of the Mohawk Valley. The committee includes members of Craobh Dugan, the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and the Ladies AOH.

New activities are in the works or already happening. Irish storyteller Helena Byrne will present a Mother's Day performance at the ICC in May. And the Craobh Dugan ceili dance classes have moved to the ICC on Friday evenings at 7:00pm.

Volunteer docents are still needed for the Ward Archives display. If you're interested in helping out, please reply to this email and we'll get you in touch with the right people.
