Bobbie Mueller At Fountainhead

During the month of June Bobbie Mueller will be part of a four-artist show at Fountainhead Gallery on Queen Anne in Seattle.  (Thur. through Sun. 11-6).

Her pieces are of tranquil places - "views of quiet waterscapes here in the Northwest - or common places seen along the road.  Some are 'real' and some in my memory, or even imagined.  I like to think the viewer will look at the shapes and lines of the watercolor strokes themselves, even a joyful scribbly line, indicating the detail.”

He recently completed a successful Mother’s Day tour following a four month exhibit at the Bainbridge Island Museum of Art. In Sept he will be exhibiting at the Jefferson County Museum in Port Townsend.
Frank describes himself as "A free-lance illustrator gone astray as a self-taught painter, who just does what he does and hopes to get lucky trying for originality, something quirky and maybe unexpected."

Summer is here and I just finished my first art show with the Mother's Day Studio Tour on Camano Island this May.  Among the pieces which sold was this one, "Camano Island State Park: Still Point".  It is rare that the water is quiet enough to create a reflection, but sometimes, typically early in the morning, the surface reaches still point.  Knowing that all the real life in the sea is below and that the image on the surface is only a reflection, it made me wonder - is life on Earth like that?  A moment that is gone when the wind stirs the water and what was on the surface returns below and becomes part of a world teeming with life?  Of course, the analogy can only be carried so far, but it did get me thinking as I worked on this piece.

Susan writes: “When Rights Embrace Responsibilities” is my 6th book cover.  It was published by Oxford University Press, India. The publisher found me via my website, My paintings dominate the top line of google search for Human Nature Painting images. This brings me some interesting contacts from all over the world. My work has been in publications in the USA, France, Germany, Sweden, and The Netherlands. The subjects my work illustrates relate to the environment, Earth wisdom and the rights of nature.
Robert DeFreest

Skykomish Saturday Night
I photograph on film (35mm slides, negatives and medium format transparencies) without the use of Photoshop or any other computer programs.  I manipulate the camera, lens and existing light sources (achieved with the use of black card stock)  while the image is being burned onto the film during extremely long exposures.  This procedure produces color shifting on film which explains the various unique color palettes seen in many of my images.  Once the film is processed the image is not enhanced in any way. The resulting images are all created during the time of the exposure. If I fail to capture a satisfactory image, then I must repeat my efforts night after night until I create what I consider an image worthy of reproducing on paper. In addition to having a passion for railroads, I am also heavily influenced by a deep love for classic gothic terror films, not out of any sense of morbidity but because of an overwhelming attraction to mood and atmosphere. It is this visual cue I strive to incorporate into my work.
Since arriving here  in July of 2017, I have been in or will be in 7 shows and competitions, including  the upcoming  Art at the Port in Anacortes, an international photo competition currently exhibiting in Ventura, CA (Dab Art's MNEMONIC Show), Edison in October, am currently showing at the Town Center Gallery in Shoreline, and had the blessed good fortune to have won 4 awards in the Arts Aloft show at the Guilded Gallery in Stanwood.

Approaching Oblivion                                                Wye, It Snowed 2

"I grew up on Camano Island and am so excited to be back after 18 years. I returned to the area in May along with my wife, Renae, and daughter, Willow. For the past couple years I have been a full-time artist in Indianapolis as an acrylic painter. I am thrilled to have the opportunity to continue my art career in the beautiful Northwest. I look forward to engaging in the strong community of artists here and seeing the arts grow and flourish on Camano!
