The changing banking landscape and how the new breed of ‘digital banks’ is likely to benefit regional businesses and regional investment was discussed at a free network meeting organised by Cassowary Coast Regional Council and Innisfail Chamber of Commerce earlier this month.
Special guests Tim Alexander, chief operating officer, and Kris Whitehead Managing Director Relations, from Melbourne-based Judo Bank spoke to local businesses about the challenges medium-sized businesses (SMEs) face in terms of lending.

Award-winning artists and guest speakers from around the country will feature at the Gumbugan Indigenous Arts Forum to be held in Innisfail as part of Cassowary Coast Reconciliation Week celebrations at the end of this month.

Residential development interest is being rekindled in the Cassowary Coast area with the recent approval of 49 lots at Innisfail Estate, Innisfail.
Cassowary Coast Regional Council recently presented the Cassowary Coast Art Deco Strategy at the 2019 Local Government Heritage Conference in Ipswich. Cassowary Coast Regional Council proudly supported the region's local tourism organisation, Tropical Coast Tourism in delivering workshops and networking events in Cardwell, Tully, Mission Beach and Innisfail.
The workshops, facilitated by tourism development marketing specialist Russell Boswell, showed businesses how to energise their guest's experience and how to leverage on upcoming events in the region.
